Online forum chatter continues about where the Mountaineers will be seeded...if they make the field...if they are in the NIT etc. Bottom line: this team has fallen so far that can't have any reasonable expectations of anything other than a we made the field in any tourney. Do you really still retain any enthusiasm for this bunch? Really? And please none of that WVU fan bs.

Both teams were playing for different things..
WVU is playing for seeding while OU is playing to get into the tournament.
Now if both WVU and OU were playing for the same thing would there have been a difference.
I think there would have been because I saw the fight WVU showed at the end of the game.
I still think WVU is going to be a tough out. Better be a good Defensive team and a team who is willing to play physical for rebounds.

There are some truly obsessive nutballs out there for any fan base, but in general the fanbase should never care more than the players. Currently the body language of the team does seem to say that they don't care. Definitely says that they are not having fun.
Fan basis are a fickle bunch to begin with. A fans expectations are always bigger than their eyes. Especially when a fast start happens. Then reality sets in and you see what kind a team you really have.
I'm guilty of getting caught up in the fast start. But we all really knew before the season started that this team would struggle to win more than 17. Myself I picked 20 regular season wins.
I really thought that 20 wins would be a success after last season, and we MAY just pull it off. Tomorrow night will probably be our best chance. Right now, we have a crisis of confidence within a very young team.
It is entertainment, so there's still that. I try to look for positives.
This season will end the same way every other season ends.

I think if the money ever gets close to Big 12 money and the opportunity is floated, WVU would bolt the Big 12. I understand the cultural differences and the anticipated screwing by ACC officials but #1, people make the same derogatory comments about us in the Big 12 and we've only been there 8 years and #2, it's not as if there isn't a ton of discussion about bad calls we seem to get from the Big 12 officials, making bad calls we'd get from the ACC a wash. When the rivalries are real, it just makes everything so much more fun. But, and this is a big one...I don't expect the invite to ever occur. Ever.

The ACC is financially behind the other conferences.
Once something happens between the Big 12 and PAC 12 the ACC will at the bottom instead of the PAC 12.
