he was just happy to find a spot where Westmont parents couldn't tell him what they thought of him...
Give what up? I keep hearing about how unhappy their parents are with things over there.. we won't play them for 4 years, so I don't care what they do..
Well he is a coach in the conference my school is in.. and there are a lot of people not pleased with the guy..

Not so much sticking up for Otto. Just loved the irony of someone saying he didn't really care about Westmont, but took the time to denigrate the coach and program.
The actual irony is that you got all undone because I stated the an opinion and you know nothing about the Westmont program.. my opinion, its not good for the Interstate 8..
I'll state this for the last time for clarity. I don't understand the mindset of someone who says he does not care about a program, yet takes a shot at it. Maybe this is a minority opinion. You certainly are free to disagree with it. And are also free to take shots at programs you allegedly don't care about.
Will rephrase, don't care if they suck from now on in the sense that we won't play them... but also think him building a quality program is good for the health of the I-8..

I kinda agree with you on this and not sure why this thread took the nasty turn it did with HHS but such is life. I do recall one of the teams getting into trouble a few years back for making sideline passes for people that didn't belong there. perhaps that is the genesis of the question. I don't know I just thought I was seeing things on Saturday and never gave it a second thought until the thread was posted.

All Otto Zeman has done over the last 40+ years is revelotionize Illinois high school football and devote his life to the kids that played for him. He might have seemed batshit crazy with some of his inovations but he gave us the greatest game in Illinois history according to just about everyone on this site. Now he has take over a program with a .263 winning percentage over 34 years and you expect that he can do miracles. HHS You don't know what the hell you're talking about and should shut the F*#k up.

I am just saying what I know...heard most Westmont fans aren't happy with things.. And he caused the 7 I-8 teams he played this year nothing but headaches.. Have 65 kids in your program and don't have a freshman team and a soph team that played only 5 games, that will happen.. We were lucky enough to get a soph game out of them, but had to make a second trip up there on a Monday.. Sat out a few starters one game even though they weren't hurt, just knew they had no chance to win..despite that great game 20 years ago, he rubbed a lot of people wrong this year..
Coaching at a big school and a small school is just different. Most coaches who coach at big schools and make the move to a smaller school end up looking like complete jags because they are used to a different support system and different parents. They try to do things the "big school" way and it ends up alienating small town kids. Otto means well, he just doesn't know any better. The opposite is true of big schools hiring small school coaches... these guys are used to being understaffed and overworked. They may struggle with big school politics, but if they can handle that, the kids get a coach who knows how to care about their players.
During his good run, they were between 900-1000, correct??? That's hardly a big school...

Either way, Otto has looked like a clown at Westmont and has pissed off pretty much every school at some point in his 3 years there...
Ask around the conference about him, see what the general opinion is.. Kicking Westmont out of the conference because of the way he is running their program has been mentioned by more than one school...
