Why would you invest into a quarterback and receivers, but you do NOT have a good, or even decent offensive line?? No one to protect the QB(who thinks he's a dang-on running back. Stay in the pocket and throw the ball. He steps back and then right back forward more than half of the time. Dude, take your step back into the pocket, STAY in the pocket, find your receiver, and throw the ball. Unless, of course, the freaking linemen can't hold the defense back, at which time then you take off to run forward. So to the coaches.....why no offensive line?? And to the QB....why don't you quit moving forward, set ur feet, and do what you are ok at......throw the ball. Geez, we wanna win more than we lose!!!!

OK, ease up a bit there. I know after every loss it seems the sky is falling but this is a bit much. First of all, and even I wasn't fully aware of this, but we have 7, yes 7 Offensive lineman hurt. That is about half of how many you even have on your team if you go three deep. So that limits you and forces you to play some guys who are not ready. That kind of makes things difficult. We also have one of the best Offensive Line classes coming in next year in recruiting in the country. Yes they will be young but take the young guys playing this year, get those ready next and after that, with Lanorris Sellars at QB we will be really tough. At that point we will just need to improve running back room and keep getting and developing wide receivers.
As for Ratter taking off, several times he could not even step up OR run if he wanted to. Tenn just pinned their ears back all game and since they got outstanding pressure from their front four, that left 7 in the backfield to cover the receivers and give him nowhere to throw NOR time to throw it. I dont think he really ran very much but that was because he didnt even finish his drop before someone being right on him.
Yes it was a bad game by our O-line but with 7 players unavailable it is what it is and they are growing. Tree will be really good and will grow from Saturday night alot. We will be fine but this year will be feast or famine. If O-line has a good game, Ratter will carry us far. If O-line struggles, we will be hard pressed to beat many teams. If Juice doenst come back soon the passing game will really struggle. Leggette has been great and others have been good but we need a true threat to take coverage off of Leggette.

Yeah, it's definitely been a run of bad luck on the OL with injuries. Nichols was by far our best OL. Henry goes down on the first drive in the UNC game. Markee Anderson was challenging for a starting spot, then we lose him in fall camp. Just tough to overcome that. But that's why they get paid millions, so figure it out.

It all starts with the OL. If you can't run the ball, it is very hard to win a football game and we can't run the ball at all. When the D knows you can't run, they can rush 4 and drop 7 and now it is very hard to throw the ball.

The OL recruits coming in, if they do come, are not going to solve the OL problem. Going from HS to college as an OL is incredibly difficult and usually takes a few years. Most HS OL are just big boys who are much larger than the D linemen they face so they physically dominate them and look great doing it. College teams have to turn a lot of their fat into muscle and teach them techniques they barely have any idea about in HS, this cannot happen in one year.

Sellers is a great athlete but don't count on him to come in and be the savior. It wasn't long ago that Doty was the flavor of the month as the qb who was going to save the team. Rattler is probably the best pure qb ever at Carolina. Shaw was very good but he had a much better surrounding cast.

Those of you that have actually played the game, people that have no more recognition and understanding of a subject than that demonstrated in this post can and DO legally vote in our elections. Let that sink in.
