You may get a lot of answers and the serious ones are probably somewhat true on what a person is taught in their church.

I was taught the Good refers to all the good JC brought and will forever bring as he was flogged and made to carry the cross to his crucifixion and that is to be celebrated rather than dwell on his death.

He also died on this day and on the third day, Easter, he arose from death. To give people hope that there's more to life.
Yes, I read the question on the why the word "good". I probably read the question incorrectly

I will say I am not an expert on religion whatsoever but have been going to church my entire life and Easter is the big holiday in my family's life. My answer mostly comes from what I was taught.

Is the Friday before Easter Sunday call "Good Friday" ?
Per Billy Graham Evangelical Society...

Why is it called “Good Friday”? Because by His death, Jesus became the final and complete sacrifice for our sins. We cannot erase our guilt, nor can we overcome our sins by our good deeds. But Christ did what we could never do for ourselves, by dying for us on that first Good Friday. May this day truly become “Good Friday” for you, as you confess your sins and put your faith and trust in Christ.
