i ask myself this after every game. I plan time every weekend to watch this team (my team) ad it's all for naught. I get it that when I first started watching we were just before the Shea years but expectations were lowered then. The recruits we were getting were not D1 players. Now, no matter what anyone says about Flood, we have middle of the pack big ten talent. Ash is not the answer, and I think after that missed field goal(awful to even attempt) he realized that himself. I am officially opening up my Saturday's to something besides Rutgers, and actually feel pretty relieved. And I know most feelings/responses will be like, "don't let the door hit you in the ***" but maybe the door needs to close. I'm out.

It is now only a matter of time before Ash is gone - just totally outclassed in every P5 game. The question is will RU wait before they make a move. Every year they wait will set us back another year. This is gut check time for Hobbs - a very questionable hire himself, will his ego allow him to say "i made a mistake". I don't think it will.

There's no money. Even if it is the right move, Ash is going nowhere.

What would be the point? To bring a 6th Offensive co-ordinator in 6 years with a new head coach. College kids need stability not more turmoil. Feel bad for the 4th and 5th yr seniors that have been thru so many different offensive and defensive co-ordinators and position coaches. That's part of the reason guys aren't progressing the way they should

CORRECT! - probably the most dismal scenario is that Ash becomes a corollary (but distinctively different) of Eddie Jordan - seemed to have potential, was decent & clean - had a hard time getting on to a winning track - but created a time buffer - moved the team away from a toxic situation. Actually hope that Ash's story ends up better than this

Even if he never succeeds, I think he'll leave the program with more overall talent and better facilities than when he received it.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but we do not have middle of the pack big ten talent. I am appalled at the decisions I've seen from Ash, and am of the belief he is in over his head, but I repeat: we DO NOT have middle of the pack big ten talent.

We have a roster that lost a full recruiting cycle of players from the Flood years, a full 30 players dropped to D2 or were dismissed from the program.

We are at a Kansas level, plus the real talent Ash has brought in.

Ash has shown me some awful traits, and personally I do not think he's going to make it. But I just want to repeat, we DO NOT have middle of the pack big ten talent. No way, no how.

If ash survives, his recruiting will have bailed him out. I'm still rooting for him.

Ash is a young pro. He has seen what it takes to get talent at the university. His offensive tactics are questionable, but the defense is definitely showing improvement. Who is better that you would hire and why? Note: The big ten is hard because there are a few teams who swamp the talent compared to others, and they play man-physical defense.

That is probably the way RU administration will analyze it also. They are wrong. When season ticket sales go down another 25% (along with associated parking fees, donation minimums, concessions etc) not spending money on a new coach and staff is simply poor financial management. A university the size of Rutgers can "always" find the kind of money it takes to fix this.

I know we’re struggling, but I still think we should keep Ash till the end of his contract. 1.5 years is way too short to evaluate. Also, you can’t guarantee success with a new hire anyway. Ash was DC for national champion. For a resume, I’d take that any day. Give him a chance, that’s all. He deserves that.

No one. We pay bargain basement prices for coaches and last in the B1G because we're broke. We run a subsidy at around $13 mil. not counting student fees(a lot of schools have these our media and faculty members likes to count them against us). We're the only school in the B1G which has one. We received $12.6 mil. from the B1G last year with a boost in pay this year of $1.4 mil.. Maryland receives roughly $30 mil.

The B1G is getting exactly what they wanted a huge increase in pay for little competition. If they didn't want it this way the conference members would have voted in favor of an advance we asked for. Our overtures were refuted and told you have a contract live with it.
