Remember when players had to live on campus or together at the lodge? I’m wondering if with the nil that today players stay in off campus condos or houses and it leads to a lot of disconnect.

I think that was a big mistake to remove that. Dudes living together helps build chemistry. We have NONE right now.
Yes indeed! I remember as a kid sitting in my camping chair waiting in line for midnight (big blue) madness across the street from the old wildcat lodge and thinking wow all the players are in there hoping they would step out and say hi. I think this has been mentioned before but iirc they’re was some issues with Oscar T. Staying elsewhere also.
Forcing all players to move into the lodge would be the best thing that could happen.

I wonder that as well. It starts with the coach though. I watched Michigan who was largely built out of the portal and they were popping jerseys and having a blast. Playing amazing helps that but you can tell that staff has everyone on the same page. I’d really love to go hard after Dusty May.
Living together in the same building as the gym they practice in would probably at least fix chemistry issues.
It helps that they landed Yaxel, a potential lottery pick and sure-fire first rounder who dismantled the same Zags team that handled us.
I'll be real, if we had actual blueblood starter caliber players, a lot of these issues being seen now would mask themselves.

I was always under the impression that we were the only school with anything like it - a private residence connected to the gym. All the former players talk about how important their time there was. The bonding, etc.
I said when the portal started if Garrison was our starting center we were screwed that’s before we got anybody in the portal
