Some other thoughts:

1. UK reportedly spent nearly 10mil already.. so IU likely could stomach a bigger pay day. Without knowing their roster for 2026, I cant imagine it's anywhere near as talented as ours is, and is therefore much cheaper. Kind of makes sense how this happened.

2. We need to keep a running and updated list of insiders who don't know ****, and post that list as a disclaimer every off season, so when someone claims to have a lock, we can say "well you've been wrong a dozen times last year.."

I didn't rule such out, I'd rather have the bird in hand and see what comes out of the bush as we go.

The cream will still rise to the too and may be more likely to as iron sharpens iron.

I'm not crying about it, keep on fishing.

I'm just in the camp that we are best served by continuing the search rather than counting on what may be because it is already in the cupboard.

I want another shooter and if we already have him then the more the merrier or insurance if any falter for any reason.

Keep beating the bushes.
This post has to be the record for most metaphors 😉

Frosty Tips lol what a clown
THIS. That idiot backed Cal and his staff and would attack everyone who dared talked **** about Cal right up until the day he left. Now he acts like that never happened. He’s no FOS. Plus he gets butthurt on Twitter if you expose who he is.

MeManBoy = Marc Maggard.

Pope absolutely **** the bed here. We will yet again be another player short of being a real title contender. Sick of this ****. Get it fixed or get someone here who can.

I saw SEVERAL posts taking up for MeManBoy and claiming he had a source. That dude is a clown/fake insider.
Who is that idiot who said probably like 20 times on here that he knew for a fact MeManBoy had a good source on this? Probably should delete their account at this point.

IU has a lot of minutes available right now. But just remember, on this day one year ago, I believe we had exactly zero players on our roster, unless you count Perry who never really decommitted.

Does Wilkerson not understand, that once IU has their final roster complete, he’s just going to be another player there?

Lol, of course he does, it was about $$$ and nothing else! I sure would hate it for IU if this guy ends up shrinking down to the massive upgrade in competition next season 🤣

Will UI put him on a popcorn box before the season tips off?

Kidding aside, I agree that he was much more valuable (and likely offered a lot more cash) to IU than UK. And yes, your season will be interesting. Will it be promising for the future (like UK and UL last year) or more of the same underwhelming basketball that IU has had since Sampson was run out of town?
Obviously Coach DeVries will have to prove himself and I honestly can’t answer your question because IU made 3 bad coaching hires in a row and I have no idea how this one is going to turn out.

That said, DeVries doesn’t seem like a weirdo, which Clappy most certainly was. He seems to have an engaging personality while Archie was wooden and boring. DeVries is young and hungry while Woody was nearly 70 and could barely walk, so I’m encouraged.

I’m always going to trust pope, he’s shown us his ability to pick out a good roster, but I guess my point is do we truly even have the NIL here? I know no more about the average joe of this school’s $ figure and i’d consider myself a die hard fan, just seems to me like the common theme for the “superstars” in the portal will be “ours” and then flip last minute because the money elsewhere was better which worries me for the future, will we ever get the big fish? Or does pope’s method of obtaining players in silence (like todd golden at UF) work out?

My guess would be the problem is Mitch.
Why? it has been widely reported that Kentucky has one of the top 10 NIL programs of basketball programs that helped to sign our last 4 recruits plus keep players who could have entered the portal plus sign some highly ranked high school players. They all had options and could have left. I am not the biggest Barnhardt fan by any means but lets deal with facts. Facts are we are not a program that will overpay for 1 single player. I love that. I think an exception should be made for a player of the caliber of Davis, Flagg etc. but I love the new approach of a complete team approach.

Sweet 16 is the limit without some studs.

That is an opinion and not based on facts. Houston didnt have studs in the transfer portal or high school and neither did Florida. They were good players who played team ball and a system. I would argue Kentucky could have been Elite Eight material without all the injuries and that was only having weeks to for Pope to pick from leftovers last year. You have to admit last year with the conditions Pope inherited was a huge success.

Idk why everyone is that upset. I'm kindnof fine with the roster as is.

Guards - Lowe, Johnson, Oweh, Perry, Chandler
Forwards - Kam, Dioubate, BG, JQ, Andria

And that's forgetting some guys.

I think we could use another PG and Center.. but those would both probably need to be backup or reserve roles. We just can't expect to have pure talent across all 15 roster spots.

We have one proven shooter in Williams.

Yeah our shooting takes a bit of a hit. BUT oweh was 35%, lowe is much better than his stats last year.. you still have BG and Chandler who can make up. Also still have SG Jasper Johnson.

Look, another PG who can get his shot would be great, and maybe a true center.. but Wilkerson was a SG and we sort of have that locked up. I argued this point early today that he was sort of a redundant piece.

I guess he better enjoy his time a IU because it is likely to be the end of the road for him. If he thinks he has to go to a has-been program to shine, he doesn't sound like anyone who can take on the challenge required to become an NBA player.
Right because IU doesn’t put people in the NBA…

What is kind of hard to figure is not wanting to play for a top 5 team and opting to be part of a rebuild. Of course he can be the man and make more money there and shoot the ball all he wants which means self gratification over team goals and winning championships.
