Will anything come of this?

IHSA tells Aurora Central Catholic, Guerin to resolve dispute on their own.
Football: No resolution to Aurora Central Catholic complaint about Guerin coach's behavior.
No action has been taken on a complaint that Aurora Central Catholic officials filed with the Illinois High School Association about the conduct of Guerin football coach Glen Kozlowski during a Sept. 19 game between the schools.

"I believe the school administrators have been in contact with one another and unless we get further concern, we'll let the schools work it out," Craig Anderson, IHSA executive director-elect, said Wednesday morning.

ACC athletic director Sean Bieterman said Wednesday afternoon he has not heard from anyone at Guerin.

"We're looking forward to seeing what action will be taken to make sure this doesn't happen again," Bieterman said. "We're waiting to see what steps Guerin will take."

Controversy follows ex-Chicago Bears wideout Glen Kozlowski to Guerin

Bieterman said ACC's complaint was filed Sept. 21.

Both schools are members of the Metro Suburban Conference. ACC is in the West Division, Guerin is in the East.

"We did reach out to the officials who worked the game (Sept. 19 at Guerin) to get more details," Anderson said. "At this point, I think it would be best if (the schools) work out some sort of agreement. It's best when the school administrators take care of things like this."

Anderson, who oversees football for the IHSA, said he couldn't think of a similar situation in his six years with the IHSA.

"Generally, coaches tend to get along," he said.

"Typically, if something comes up, it's usually a coach having a disagreement with an official or officiating crew. If a coach is ejected from a game, he has to sit out the next contest, or more if he's totally out of line.

"That's generally where we have disagreements. It's rare to have the two sidelines have a disagreement that develops into a confrontation."

I saw him berating an official after a game, in the parking lot, and this was a Libertyville Boys Club game. Probably 20 years ago now. I really wanted to say something but thought the better of it. So to answer the question, no I don't think anything will come of it.

I posted on this topic a couple of weeks back. I am a volunteer coach at Guerin Prep High School. I am also an attorney. I would not associate with or work for any coach who would employ or engage in targeting or any other type of dirty play. The ACC vs, Guerin Prep game was a physical game. I believe that there were 13 personal foul penalties. Eight against Guerin and five against ACC. No player or coach was ejected from the game. ACC instructed their players not to shake hands after the game. The following day the head coach at ACC contacted the Chicago Tribune and accused Coach Kozlowski and the entire coaching staff of teaching its players to engage in targeting, and dirty play. These accusations are not only false, they are, in my opinion, bordering on slanderous. In addition, ACC's head coach made accusations to the Chicago Tribune that Guerin Prep students and players were throwing rocks at ACC's bus as it was leaving. This is also completely untrue. The Guerin players were in our meeting room until well after the ACC bus left. As with every home game, there were River Grove police present. I contacted the River Grove police to see if there were any complaints made for rock throwing at a school bus at the Guerin Prep football game. I was told no.
If ACC had a problem with Guerin, it should have resulted in a telephone call from Coach Belskis to Coach Kozlowski. Instead Coach Belskis immediately goes to the Chicago Tribune. That tells me that, in my opinion, Coach Belskis had no interest in resolving what he perceived as a dispute. Coach Belskis, in my opinion, likely had an ulterior motive for his actions.

Tony, Every time you reply - do you bill an hour to the school or to Koz directly?
