I agree, he has earned it. I wonder if he wants a head coaching job...
I think BrentV earned a shot at a head coaching job years ago. Either he is content being an assistant coach, or he is waiting on very specific jobs to open up and offer.

I can't recall ever really hearing about BrentV being a name that gets thrown around over the years for head coaching jobs. I agree but honestly cannot remember hearing him even interview for HC position anywhere. While at OU did he get interviewed?
You would have to ask BrentV. You think we hear about every time a coach gets hit up about a coaching vacancy?
Typically there are names mentioned and I don’t ever recall his coming up as a possible replacement except the Kansas State courtesy bone. Just surprises me.
I believe that BV interviewed for the Missouri job the year they hired Gary Pinkel. I don't recall hearing anything about him interviewing anywhere after that.
I doubt he’s going anywhere anytime soon. His oldest son is committed to play at Clemson next year and his younger son just received an offer. He’s paid rather well too.
Funny thing about great minds. I was thinking about him today regarding all of these jobs opening up. Haven't heard his name mentioned once. He may not have the temperament for a head coaching job.
