Wherever he ends up, I presume he'll still have the ban on competing due to the "illegal substance" until about midway through the 2016 season.

No thanks I'll pass on Grier. IIRC he had a pretty solid game against Ole Miss this past season but overall I wasn't that impressed.

Kid needs a new start, likely has quite a few choices to pick from. New coaching staff was a big adjustment no doubt, then the substance abuse thing was a kick in the head. As for snatching him up, from what I've been reading an SEC school would be a rule bender.
Good luck to him.

I'm not sold on UF's return to glory. They could've lost their last 5 games and their O, for hiring an O coach, was paltry the 2d half of the season. Still, they're recruiting well but they may fall victim of their own success.

There's more to his story than is what's being reported, he was their starter and would have been if he returned. Lots of rumors about him but what has really gone on won't ever get out.

I agree. The kid was all set to return mid-season and be their starting QB for the next 2 1/2 years. Something doesn't add up.

A change in environment often does wonders to straighten up a person. I'll bet he goes back to his brothers in SoCal and joins either UCS or UCLA.

Just shows how incredibly weak the SECE was with them clinching it in early November.

The UF offense was "paltry" due to the hot mess left by Will Muschamp on offense. No QB depth or development, no offensive line depth or development .... not even enough bodies to play a spring game and had to move a D-tackle over and start 2 true freshmen, no TE development and had WR position, and no depth at RB which necessitated playing 2 true freshmen. Heck, it was a testament to the new coaching staff that UF was able to do as well as they did after losing Grier at mid-season. 2016 will see a wide-open SEC East, imo. Given how well recruiting is going, though, I would look for UF to again be back in contention for years to come.

Dont know the rumors but this kid is a good player.

He's great compared to the other "QB's" that Muschamp brought in, but Grier wasn't the 2nd coming of Tim Tebow. For Florida to be a true contender again, they were going to have to upgrade from him anyway.

Speaking of Muschamp, I thought he was in contention for the worst hire of he year until he officially snatched the crown by hiring Kurt Roper as OC. The same Kurt Roper that helped him get canned at Florida. Maybe Coach Boom is really in it for the severance packages.

Sounds like there was more to the failed test then otc from gnc.... and he lied to Uf about it. Would be weird to groom a qb for next year with expectation of switching back to Greer mid year

Not Tebow, but you can tell as a Freshman the kid is a gamer with skills.

Seems like he will have to sit out the entire season due to the transfer rule, unless he transfer down. IIRC the rule requires a year in residence at the new school.
