I’ve never moved anything or rooted against UK at anytime.

I loved Pope the player and was glad he was hired. I thought he would kill it here.

It’s just painfully obvious that he is not up to the task.

I watched the team quit up close in Bridgestone last March.

If you don’t think UK was embarrassed this year in MSG and Bridgestone then you are right to not try to argue it.
No, man. Go back and read. You’re doing the exact thing I initially replied because of. It’s not worth it to keep going back and forth honestly, because this is what always happens.

Me: Replies to a point about overemphasizing only the flops, without also acknowledging the times preparation allowed us to beat teams with far more talent.

You: Reiterates bad losses again.

Literally no point.

A win would convince me that maybe this team can comeback from the depths of mediocrity. But I’m not going to pretend the IU game was a great indicator of improvement from this team. People forget we were down 9 points against them at one point. They had lots of turnovers too. But they also out-rebounded us.

Guess we’ll see. Right now I expect to get our butts kicked by the fighting Pitinos. Hope I’m wrong:

I'm glad you're still happy with this very successful season.
Well, since we haven't played a full season yet who knows?
I’m just gonna agree to disagree. I disagree with so much of what you said that I don’t even think it’s worth arguing over. I’m beginning to learn there are very few people on here who try to hold any kind of consistent methodology anyway. I could probably find that you picked us to lose the Duke, Gonzaga or Tennessee games last year, showing we outperformed your expectations. I could probably find you picked us to finish worse than a 3 seed prior to last season. But what’s the point? You’ll just move the goalposts and neither of us will learn anything. So I’ll leave it there. Agree to disagree.
So these guys are so pathetic that you can't even begin to reason with them. Wants to try to minimize what was accomplished last year. Ignore the fact that would be a top 10 teams and that we struggled with significant injuries with the games that we lost all season long. I'm not satisfied with the start of this year nor do I know exactly what's going wrong, but I won't be a little Woody accomplished last year nor give up on him for a slow start this year.

Why do people keep bringing up last year like it was some type of unbelievable success? It was a fine good year especially for a coaches first with limited time. The team fit together very well but even then Pope didn’t recruit the portal at a high level and he didn’t this past off season either.

I watched to team quit also and that is NOT Pope's fault.

Nice red herring! I’ve never stated clunkers are not Pope’s fault. Two things being true simultaneously is the very point. We never want to acknowledge both sides because it isn’t as sexy as a big angry ragebait post that will get about 40 likes and high fives on here. I’ve always strived to try to be intellectually consistent —- fail I may, but at least I’m trying. Most on here don’t.

My post got deleted because I said Joesph Smith would carry us to victory? People on here say way worse. What a freaking **** show.

This game will tell us more than the Indiana game. St John’s is really talented. They haven’t jelled just yet, but you know they will at some point.

Pitino is a master at preparation.

Pope can’t spell preparation.

A player must play hard to play for Pitino.

Playing hard is an option for Pope.

Barring a miracle shooting day by the Cats we can’t win this game.
Unfortunately, you may be right.

This year I don’t think it’s been great. Sometimes it takes time to figure out how to utilize your parts. Wouldn’t you say last year we showed good preparation before the injury bug? We had no business beating some of the teams we did and those games deserve credit just like the flops deserve blame. I don’t understand the cherry-picking where we choose one type of outcome and just fully run with it, ignoring the rest. Both can be true: Pope has chops as a game planner but it also has been ugly and abysmal this season. It’s ok to acknowledge both —- maybe it won’t get the likes and high fives on here but at least you will know you called it down the middle.
So why not flip a coin and not play the game?

Possible JQ to play a little…he and MO together with a real PG….could make it interesting….

I know the “conventional wisdom” says JQ won’t play…but CP might use his presence (even for a short
period of time) to be a real boost to the team…

Just my $.02

Going to take more than $.02 to make a difference.

Honestly, in Red’s pick thread, I have Kentucky winning in a close game. However, put a gun to my head and I have to be right to live, I’m taking St John’s.

Considering where this season has gone so far, I’m confident that St. Johns will rip us a new one.

Maybe JQ can change that? Hopefully but I’m not counting on it.

Let’s be wrong and pretend for the next 14 hours that we’re going to win.

JQ = Beast ? I hope so !

First game for him tomorrow ? This is what I've been waiting for since the summer. Get them all on the floor, go from there. That was all I was asking for.
