Probably a hard sell to the Florida fanbase to hire a coach that hasn't had a winning regular season at the P5 level to date.Be interviewing for the UF job? It’d be a nice fit for both ….
LOL--who comes up with this crap?
"best served to stay at WVU to show his ability to build a contender from scratch"
OMG what a complete mischaracterization of FACT.
1st, Neal Brown isn't and hasn't "rebuilt" anything. Every aspect of WVU football is FAR worse than when he arrived at the program. In fact he has turned in the worst performance of a coach at WVU in over 40 years to date.
2nd, the program had averaged EIGHT WINS PER SEASON FOR FIVE YEARS RUNNING prior to Neal Browns arrival. WVU under Neal Brown is currently holding less than a 5 win per year average including 3 fcs games and a G5 eked out bowl win. WVU wasn't at "scratch", WVU was 4 pts from playing for a BIG 12 Championship. Under Brown WVU now has an epic battle with KANSAS to try and make a bowl and pull Neal Brown to .500 after two consecutive 5 win regular seasons.
Even in the win over Texas, we saw incredibly poor coaching decisions and the same mistakes nearly lead a sure win to a loss.
There are not likely any serious winning major programs anywhere considering the services of Neal Brown. Don't worry.
Yep that is what they are doing with Neal Brown and the "climb" for sure.*SLURP* *SLURP* *SLURP* ... *GAK* * GAK* *GAK*
it is that lack of fire that has created the mediocrity that now defines the program. NB just doesn't seem to care.Too bad the coaching staff and players don't have the fire of the posters on this board, including me. They would be Big 12 champs and in the national playoffs. If helps us forget our own failures in our lives and careers, I guess.
It is my opinion that the last sentence is absolute Bull ****.it is that lack of fire that has created the mediocrity that now defines the program. NB just doesn't seem to care.
the dude is like a bowl of jello. no excitement. no appeal. It is my opinion that the last sentence is absolute Bull ****.
You're a dumbass clown.LOL--who comes up with this crap?

How exactly do you define mediocrity in terms of wins and losses a season?it is that lack of fire that has created the mediocrity that now defines the program. NB just doesn't seem to care.
Bucky is right on this. where's the rebuild at 5-6 in year three? You're a dumbass clown.
check any kneel brown record st wvu...or troy for that matter. How exactly do you define mediocrity in terms of wins and losses a season?
Neal Brown had 4 seasons at Troy in which 3 were double digit win totals.check any kneel brown record st wvu...or troy for that matter.
sucked you in. so you admit he is mediocre at wvu? or are you inferring that wvu is a mediocre program with or without Kneel Clown?Neal Brown had 4 seasons at Troy in which 3 were double digit win totals.
10-3
11-2
10-3
You're saying this mediocre? If that is the case Then was Don Nehlen Mediocre? was Rich Rodriquez Mediocre? Not sure why you follow Wvu its been pretty much mediocre your entire life.
The majority of my life Wvu has been what most like yourself consider to be mediocre. Since you complain how much you hate it then not sure why you even bother following wvu. You seemed to have made a mediocre decision when you decided what team to follow.sucked you in. so you admit he is mediocre at wvu? or are you inferring that wvu is a mediocre program with or without Kneel Clown?
stop playing joe biden and moving the goalposts of discussion. love the Mountaineers. had a personality and rose to higher levels in the past. under Kneel Clown the program is sinking. some fans are blindly loyal and accept Trust the Slide and the mediocrity as the best that poor little wvu can do. i don't accept that loser's view. and it is ******** that the big 12 is tougher than the old Big east was. tcu...texas tech...kansas...kansas state...iowa state...tcu even texas are no better than the old eastern foes. just an excuse to accept poor results. wallow in self pity if you want to.The majority of my life Wvu has been what most like yourself consider to be mediocre. The only one moving the goal posts is yourself. Mediocrity is a subjective term. When are you going to stop being a chicken and just define what you mean by mediocrity? You won't answer the question because it will blow up in your face. The fact is wvu is around a 7 win program historically. The programs currently on the schedule with the exception of Texas and Oklahoma have about the same potential as wvu. The schedule is much tougher than it was in the past. Who else besides Louisville proved they could hang with the big boys from the big east?stop playing joe biden and moving the goalposts of discussion. love the Mountaineers. had a personality and rose to higher levels in the past. under Kneel Clown the program is sinking. some fans are blindly loyal and accept Trust the Slide and the mediocrity as the best that poor little wvu can do. i don't accept that loser's view. and it is ******** that the big 12 is tougher than the old Big east was. tcu...texas tech...kansas...kansas state...iowa state...tcu even texas are no better than the old eastern foes. just an excuse to accept poor results. wallow in self pity if you want to.
So how much money have you donated to the university and the athletic department? My guess is probably none.stop playing joe biden and moving the goalposts of discussion. love the Mountaineers. had a personality and rose to higher levels in the past. under Kneel Clown the program is sinking. some fans are blindly loyal and accept Trust the Slide and the mediocrity as the best that poor little wvu can do. i don't accept that loser's view. and it is ******** that the big 12 is tougher than the old Big east was. tcu...texas tech...kansas...kansas state...iowa state...tcu even texas are no better than the old eastern foes. just an excuse to accept poor results. wallow in self pity if you want to.
I dont think Rootmaster is a WVU fan at all- he is a right wing bot or something, mainly here to spread right wing lies and propaganda. Only agreement is that Brown isnt getting the job done.So how much money have you donated to the university and the athletic department? My guess is probably none.

lol...that was three seasons ago.I don’t think Brown has done a very good job so far. But I think everyone will admit Holgerson left the cupboard pretty bare especially on offense. 2019 was going to be a huge rebuilding year no matter who was coach.

if only intelligent people talked wvu sports then you would be excluded. fakesportswriter.ROOTMASTER SHOULD STICK TO MISPLAYING HIS GUITAR IN NEW YORK. I PUT HIM ON IGNORE MONTHS AGO. IT REDUCED MY VOMITING SUBSTANTIALLY. MAYBE EVERYONE ELSE SHOULD PUT HIM ON IGNORE. THAT'S THE WORST POSSIBLE PUNISHMENT YOU COULD GIVE ROOTMASTER IS NOT EVEN SEE HIS POSTS. I PUT OUT THE TRASH ONCE A WEEK FOR THE GARBAGE TRUCK, ROOT DOES IT EVERY HOUR. WHY BOTHER READING HIS CRAP? LET'S TALK WVU SPORTS WITH INTELLIGENT PEOPLE.
Agreed. Not defending Brown he’s been mediocre at best. Simply reminding those pining for Holgy about the mess he left the roster in.lol...that was three seasons ago.
LOL. who in their right mind would want Brown running their football program besides WVU of course. I posted many time that Holgorsen was the best coach WVU could expect to have. He’s done an incredible job at Houston. Looking back it’s obvious I was right. Brown sucks and Holgorsen is on the front page of Coach Of The Year lists.Be interviewing for the UF job? It’d be a nice fit for both ….
Some would say it was just 2 seasons ago... If you had a graph that plotted roster quality(Talent & Experience) the past 2 seasons would be the two lowest/worst plots in the 21st century.lol...that was three seasons ago.
I just watched a segment that discussed coaches who UF may pursue... Lane Kiffen, Dave Aranda, Napier, Bob Stoops, Mark Stoops, Lincoln Riley(Though seems LSU is pursuing Riley more).
While Neal Brown is considered to be a quality young coach on the rise among his peers, I doubt he has done enough at WVU yet to warrant pursuit of one of these major positions. Thats not to say it wont happen, esp if Mark Stoops leaves KY, but until NB has "Plant my Flag" type of season, hes probably best served to stay at WVU to show his ability to build a contender from scratch, which will only increase his value on the open market.
Its kinda like a business owner raising capital, VC guys usually prefer to see a significant revenue growth until they invest, compared to a start-up. There are some VC guys who focus on start-ups, but the big offers come after concept confirmation/validation.
Everyone knows what he walked into when he took the job, if he turns this around, it will present a better opportunity then leaving before the vision unfolds on the field.
