LOL ok lets say we are 5th , which we aren't , but lets say we are . There is such a small difference between conferences 1-5 it doesn't matter. The facts show that this is the best the SEC has been in almost 10 years yet some people bash their own conference and that sad part is the facts show them to be wrong. If was to rate the conferences on a scale to 10 it would be thisOriginally posted by ganner918:
People were trying to say that all year. But really, this conference was never better than 5th. I've been saying all year this board was hyping the sec when it didn't deserve it. Our conference is a joke.you dOriginally posted by caneintally:
my thoughts exactly .All season we were the 3rd or 4th best conference but the past day as made us look like we are in 2013 again when we were the 9th best conference LOL. Ole MIss will still be in IMO but have to play in a play in game as a 12 seed . Texas A&M is out .Originally posted by ukbob:
They sure look like it. Good job SEC. May have lost 2 bids.

Minimum 3 teams? I think that's very, very optimistic. Someone is going to have to pull an upset for that to happen, or get lucky like UT did last year, and have someone else pull an upset for them so they can play a 14 seed in the 2nd round.Originally posted by caneintally:

1. Big 12 - 8 out of 10
2.ACC - 8 out of 10
3. Big East - 7 out of 10
4.SEC 7 out of 10
5.Big 10 6.5 out of 10
the point being they are all close and the sweet 16 will show that , just like last year . WE will have 3 minimum teams in that . But enough i know trying to speak the truth of the this conference to some of yall is like trying to tell a redneck Dale Earnhart didn't die for their sins ... You all have it in your head that the league will always suck despite all evidence to the contrary

Yeah, I kind of agree but at that point you gotta just avoid the shooter. He ran full speed straight and the Ole Miss player's momentum caught him. The worse call was the no call when the same SC player fouled the other guy to avoid a three attempt and they didn't call it.Originally posted by dmaso44:
Personally,I thought it was a horrible call. The Ole Miss player had his back half turned with his arm in air and USC player jumped into him. Good thinking by USC player but he initiated contact.
Yeah, I am not sure what White was thinking both teams were shooting bricks all night. If the guy makes a 35ft shot to beat that is the breaks but ridingvthe guy giving him an opportunity to draw a foul is beyond dumb.Originally posted by Cats78:

True friggin' story! Well, that was fun. I was hoping there'd be an OT.Originally posted by Raroyder:

My fault, I thought you were talking about the foul on the made Ole Miss three at the other end. The foul onnWhite at the end of the game.. I thought it was bad at first but White put his hand in there. Usually they let that go at the buzzer. Surprised they called it.Originally posted by dmaso44:

Math 101. That's what happens when you're the #1 seed. Maybe that's what you mean is typical.Originally posted by kyfan606:

No, what he means is that it is a joke the 1 seed has to play the by far toughest opponent because these dog crap SEC teams like 5 seed A&M, 6 seed Ole Miss, and 7 seed Vandy cannot beat 10 times worse dog crap teams like Auburn, SC and UT.Originally posted by nyron:

Maybe you should work on the odds of all 3 double digit seeds winning on a Thursday in the SEC Tourney...they are not good. The 2, 3 and 4 seeds all have much easier games on paper now and that could play a role in them gettting to rest their players more than they would have if they had to play tougher opponents.
If LSU jumps on AU from the start they could play their scrubs in the last 10 minutes of the 2nd half...when us as UK fans would prefer they play their 6 man rotation the whole game to be more gassed for Saturday.
Umm, why would Kennedy tell them to foul? To lose on purpose??Originally posted by no_neutrality:
Kennedy just went through a time-out before the FT then called one himself when the FT was made. If he just lets them play they win. But had to micro-manage and must have told them to foul since that is what they did.
Have you considered the simple fact that conference strength is predetermined and the talk/hype/strength of said conference is continued through the season. The big 12 always has a large entry in the NCAAT and by the sweet 16, they are mostly gone. Your analogy is as unsupported as conference strength going into a season. It all boils down to the SOS fallacy that continues in college basketball.Originally posted by SaguaroCat:
The big 10 has six teams making the tournament. Four teams will have top seven seeds.
The SEC has five teams making the tournament. Two teams will have top seven seeds.
In what universe would anyone consider the SEC better than the big ten.
