I am just curious to hear your all's opinion on what you think will happen if we are beaten by the Golden Eagles.

I find it hard to think we would get to 6 wins, and I find it even harder to think BBN will stick around to find out. A loss vs SM would make it hard for anyone to make a case for Mark Stoops. I am not one who will call for his firing but I sure know thousands who will. I think if you lose against Southern Miss, you lose the BBN for good this season. I would not want to see Commonwealth vs NMSU after an 0-2 start.

Southern Miss is officially Stoop's biggest game of his career so far. If he wins, the BBN sticks around. If Stoops loses, he loses the majority of the BBN and likely the chances of a bowl. I for one do not think Southern Miss will take down the Cats, but I figured we could have a chat to take up time before the game.

The stadium would be very easy to see without people in the stands.:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Wow! And some people say I bring a dark perspective to most everything. [winking]

Without much question a loss would cast a pall over BBN that could only be lifted by absolutely winning 6 more. Barring a huge upset win along the way, it would make the remaining games with Vandy, SC, MO and MSU take on super bowl significance with enormous fan apprehension.

I still believe there are 7 winnable games on the schedule. Losing to USM would leave 6 so a bowl game is still in play (that really sounds stupid based on an opening game loss). However, the margin for error would be absolutely gone after game 1. JMO.

Peace

Dadgum, this is like asking a feminist what would happen if the wage gap is just a myth.

The amazing thing on this board is, if you call for a good season, you're a crazy optimist. If you call for a bad one you're just negative and need to go on somewhere. If you talk about winning and what's next, you need to calm down. If you talk about possibly losing, what the heck is wrong with you? you negative POS.

Gotta love it.

I called for a 7-5 season with possibly 9 wins. I doubt I am being negative.

Why start this crap 24 hours before kickoff?

Let's talk about what will happen if we go winless. I suggest we all kill ourselves. You first!

Seriously, let's see the team before the far stoops mantra gets going
Ah, you sound just like Joker's "Call me when we're two and ten."

Please stop with all the pressure on how the football team performs. That screams we are annual losers with no hope and praying for a miracle to beat anyone.

And the twenty points for USM will mainly be because UK used reserves most of the last part of the game! Believe me, UK's more talented and will win! UK wins by two touchdown at least, and it's not even that close. UK controls game from start to finish! I would be mystified if it doesn't go that way!

The buyout is not going to be a issue because Stoops won't be on the hotseat but IF needed and that is a BIG if.......Mitch can make one call and the buyout money is there.

While I don't think a loss is going to happen tmrw, a loss would be devestating. While a good program can/could recover from a hiccup like that, UK is not in that position. UK would probably go 3-8, the fans would disappear and Stoops would be fired, big buyout or not.

This is Stoops' biggest game of his career tmrw. There is no doubt about it. A lot riding on it. That's why I think UK wins and wins pretty easily. 35-13

Let me guess.... And you're starting from a place that assumes we will be 2 and 10?

All I'm saying is quit being a little girl... You included.... And see what happens before you assume the sky is falling
Terrible guess. I'm just saying what you said reminded me of it.

And the sky fell when Barney gave Stoops that stupid extension. Now we're just bleeding out.

And the court jester rings his bell. It's amusing how you like to mock people and whine when someone does it to you. I'm pretty sure you couldn't care less if we win any games and would welcome 0-12 as you think that would get Stoops replaced by Superman or Spider-Man, maybe Batman, the superhero that can turn UK football into an immediate perennial power.

Stoops will not be fired because of a huge buyout .

Stoops will not get fired because who else is there? If no one has noticed UK is a football coach's graveyard.

Personally, I think he's going to be a success in the toughest job in DI football.

Nothing will happen, Stoops and Barnhart have already been insulated with giant buyouts. Not even another fan revolt will change that.

It would be a very disappointing loss. And if we lost it and turn around and beat Florida the next week and/or still manage to make a bowl (which wouldn't be out of the question), it would look a lot less terrible in December than it will have looked on September 4.

What an absolute garbage thread. Some people just get on here to sound dumb, I'm literally convinced of it. I hope most of the fanbase isn't this misinformed about the sport. My god, if life's so down and out for you maybe you need help.

I dont see where everyone is getting the negativity. I say things that are true. I say one line about it being hard for people to make a case for Stoops with a loss. Which is true. And i say some people will call for his firing, which is true. I never said i support any of that. I was asking for other's opinions. Im not sure what sounds dumb, it was all true. But if you chose not to talk about these things because it makes you feel all negative, then thats your thing. You must be a charm to have a convo with. Thats the closest to an insult I will throw at you. Tone it down a bit, I am supposed to be mr negative afterall.

We can lose tonight and STILL win 6.....however we won't lose, still predicting a 3 TD+ victory and an upset of FL.
