I get that. But, why not have a plan in place where you just announce after McNeese is eliminated?

Things leak way too easily. I think it was smart to be up front with his team about it, say he’s focused on winning for them right now, but he wants to be up front and transparent with them. I think they will respond well.

I love the hire. He will do whatever it takes to win at NC St. They will be trouble in the ACC.
I feel like his LSU teams were good but not all that great. I know he's done great at McNeese and I'm sure he'll be a big upgrade for NCSU but I don't recall him being all that successful at LSU. Maybe my memory is off.

He won the SEC Regular Season title in 2019 and went to 4 NCAA tournaments in 6 years, pretty solid for an LSU program that's usually a bottom-dweller.
