Eatman going wild. Lombardi actually caught him on the angle but IC scored on the QB sneak
5:46 2nd.

Wilmington drive stops at the 20 on a fumble after a short conference by the refs. Big play.

Anyone who questioned my theory of grass severely slowing IC down gets to see the speed this week...Winner gets Byron next week...

Anybody near Elmhurst with a roll of duct tape:
Go to Plunkett and silence the extra loud lady on the IC side and I’ll cover all expenses/legal fees and throw in a steak dinner at a restaurant of your choice.

Final score of this one is gonna be ugly. This years team not as good without Ricobene and Rowell, but they are plenty good in 3A land with Eatman and company.
Byron might have a shot next week if they execute.

I am wondering if they played "Another One Bites the Dust" like they did in Wilmington whenever they beat someone at home. What goes around comes around.

Three possessions set the tone for the second half...Wilmington fumble at about the 20 with less than 2 minutes in the half...could have been 21 all at half...then force quick kick by IC after the half...Cats get first down, and then sacked...any momentum was dead...

Nonetheless, 21 points is the most scored on IC in two years in the playoffs...and the I-8 Small played two games against IC and combined IC did not get a running clock lead...

Not sure what you mean. But when Wilmington shows disrespect for their opponents by playing that song at the end of the game they eventually get what they deserve.
1. I’ve heard this song played at high school venues all over. Wilmington has some interesting and unique stuff about their game experience, this Queen song isn’t one of them.
2. If you find the playing of this song disrespectful and offensive, maybe you should find a new hobby. I’m not sure football is your thing.
3. How bad did Wilmington beat your kids team?

My son's team is an 8A team that would destroy Wilmington. Look at my handle. We play real football up here and we don't have rusting space men at our fast food joints than need to be saved.

And no, there aren't venues all over that show the disrespect Wilmington shows their opponents. They got what they deserved today. The only unique thing about Wilmington in the late summer and fall are the racist Confederate flags, mayflies, grasshoppers and the killing Kankakee River dam.

Wilmington is an embarrassment to Will County.

Why you so mad LT? That Lyons Township?
Wilmington is clearly not an affluent suburban paradise. It is very typical of any other small town you’d find in Illinois. All the attributes you mentioned with the exception of that killer dam, the one with about 3,000 warning signs in multiple languages that warn people not to wade into....
I don’t understand why someone such as yourself would take time to bash on poor little Wilmington in southern Will County when you clearly should have more important 8A type stuff to be working on.
Carry on and have a nice weekend.

This is so good I had to quote it so it stays forever. Or at least until this gets flushed.

Who hates grasshoppers?

Ahh yes, you're one of these people. Perhaps you come lay on my couch and we'll dig deeper into what got you here.

I like how you have to state that an 8a school would destroy a 3a school. And it’s not like will county is the premier spot in the country. Go to the east side of Joliet that’s pretty embarrassing too.

I find it strange that the rest of the I-8 has started copying the "disrespectful" traditions of the Wilmington Wildcats...

The Wildcat pregame runthrough is the best I've ever seen at any level, college & pro included...Beware What Comes Out Of The Woods...at the South end of the football field...motorcycle tunnel from the woods to the goalposts...student/fan tunnel to the 35, where the runthrough sign is in smoke...fireworks going off east of the stadium...cannon in the north endzone for big games...

In the last couple of years, a bunch of I-8 schools have amended their pregame runthrough in an attempt to compete with Wilmington...fireworks are becoming normal...one comes out to a rap song...but no one has the physical aspect of the woods which makes the Cats' intro so awesome.

Wilmington expects to win. Is playing "Go Cubs Go" disrespectful? I think not. They could play "Another One Bites the Dust" at the quarter of games with Westmont, but they don't.

And remember, whatever you might think of the Gemini Giant, the state has featured it in tourism commercials...is your town being featured in state tourism programs...

Your son may play for an 8A school that may be quite capable of beating the Wildats. Wilmington has attempted to upgrade the schedule: last year playing St. Joe Ogden, this year playing 6/5A Ottawa. Freshmen have played big schools - Bradley-Bourbonnais, Lockport, to name a couple. The Cats are not afraid to play bigger schools (or see the wrestling schedule).

What goes around comes around? IC v. Wilmo was very similar to Wilmo v. Reed Custer, with the positions reversed. But for the three long one play drives and the two scoop & scores by the defense against RC, it would have been a heck of a game...The Cats turnovers made a huge difference against IC...

I hope your son doesn't play for LT, because that isn't real football...
