Prep has a decent record and from everything I've read, they have athletes. What's your thoughts on the match up?

Anything can happen. Does Prep have a chance? Not much of one. Crazier things have happened though. Prep comes out swinging offensively and gets a couple quick breakways who knows what happens. Could get in a shootout.

Prep won’t stop Murphy and they have enough athletes offensively to hurt Murphy if their not focused. They have a QB who can sling it and a couple of other skill guys who can hurt you if your not careful. Murphy wins by at least three scores if all goes as planned.
the physical play by ‘Dogs will be the difference; unless Murphy fumbles a lot, Prep will not stop the run...now Prep can make plays by running around and throwing it down field ...no running game that I recall...
Murphy will have no problems. WS Prep can score a few TD’s in this game if Murphy is unfocused, but Murphy should score 50+

WSP highlight reels looked good. Qb was elusive and has a good arm. BUT lord the defenses they were playing were awful. A lot of teams would look good against the defense they were going up against. They have not played a defense like Murphy and Murphy’s offense will control the clock. Murphy wins big
Murphy did a good job defending the pass against Christ School most of the night, Murphy's d-line would make it hard on just about any QB at this level, the d-line is as elite as you'll see at the 1A/1AA level at full strength. Christ School didn't gain a ton of traction passing the ball until Murphy's d-line tired late in the 2nd half and 'Dogs free safety went out injured.
Christ School had a D1 QB in Shuler and two D1 DB's playing WR in White and Long and a good 6'7 TE, so I'd say that was a good test. For reference Christ School and East Surry are almost dead even in overall and state ranking on Maxpreps and have a very similiar number of FBS recruits (Christ School 5, East Surry 4).
I'd say Murphys front will destroy Prep all night then. QB will be running for his life all night. Like I said crazier things have happened and if Prep gets a couple quick strikes it could make things interesting early but I'd still say it's a 56 to 14 type ballgame.
Life Christian (very similiar athletically to WSP, but more physical) actually had more success passing against Murphy than Christ School did, but Murphy was coming off a really tough loss to Christ School and definitely didn't seem as sharp as normal.
Mid to low 40s Friday night is what I'm seeing. So about the same as around here.
There isn't much different in the climate for Murphy and Winston-Salem. Murphy is in a valley.

That is rough. Downside to 1A and no good way to fix it. The pods where great in theory for that reason but they just ended up being conference tournaments.
Goes to show how much education takes a backseat to the gate. Gonna be rough for those kids if they don't get home until 2 or 3am.
It happens in every sport. Robbinsville had to travel to North Stokes in softball on a school night and vise versa.
