The Badgers can't throw it in the ocean. UNC up 15-11 with 6:26 left in the first half. Wisconsin is not looking good. Luckily for them, UNC isn't looking much better.

To paraphrase THR, that was the easiest route to a Maui championship ever. Thought that was supposed to be a top-tier tourney.
It was supposed to be, unfortunately most of the teams in it were severely overrated. UNC looks good right now though.

The heels are rollin. thr is getting cocky. The 40-0 shirts design is being chosen. hof coach roy williams is the best there is and the carolina way and family is back. Sooner or later reality will set in and the refs are gonna start costing them some ball games and all will be back to normal. OFC

Eh, Wisconsin blows. They got lucky for a while. That luck is over, and they are headed back to their natural place... a decent-to-good team that cannot hold the jock of an elite team, just where they've been basically forever.

Ehhh.... I'm from WI, 100% Duke, don't follow WI more or less then any other team. But you folks selling WI short for the sake of not giving UNC credit are double wrong! Tar Heels look great and WI has been/will be a hell of a lot more then just an avg program. That's just a rediculous comment backed by nothing more then failure to give credit where due.

And I'm sure as hell not in the business of supporting WI basketball by any means.

Hate to say it, but UNC is a legit contender to win the whole thing... One thing I'll be curious about, though, what are the chances Tony Bradley goes pro after this season? Kid is good enough to be a first-rounder if you ask me. But you know how these things go... Roy is the Retention King and I'd be surprised if that changes anytime soon.

Carolina has looked good against the mediocre competition they have played so far this year but i was not impressed at all with the UW win. Koenig/Hayes went a combined 4-24 with only Happ playing a somewhat decent game. Any above average team would have beat them last night, imo.

So you give UNC's defense no credit for that whatsoever? I'm not buying it.

I don't think UNC is the '76 Hoosiers reincarnated, or even the '09 Heels, but they're one of the best teams in the country this season. That's reality.

Seriously? That's a pretty homer post right there. I think Berry is the more complete player.

No thats a personal opinion post, not a "homer" post. A "homer" post would have been to take a say, Derryck Thornton over Berry last year, just because he blocked a pretty big Berry shot I think....❓❓❓

I have to give UNC credit, they are a lot better looking team than I imagined them being. They are well rounded and playing as good as anyone, and Tony Bradley is legit as well as Joel Berry. Just because I hate them I'm not goin to deny credit when it's due.

They look good but as someone posted,,they have not played any top tier teams as of yet. There first true test will be Kentucky even though UK hasn't played anyone that will make a run at the FF yet neither. I think we will find out what both programs have then. Early on I say that UNCs experience will have the edge but the youngsters can ball also. That will be interesting to see who prevails and shows who is the real deal. But I also think its all a mute point if Duke can get healthy and mesh together with the upperclass presence and our outstanding Freshmen.

UNC looks a lot like Duke right now...which is to say very similar to the teams they always seem to have. Now Dukes fortunes may improve mightily from here if everyone gets healthy. UNC is still doing the things they always do well...score inside, protect the lane, rebound. Roy coaches that stuff really well. However, they are also weak where they tend to be weak...3-pt defense (WI missed a lot of good looks), guard play and shooting. Yes Berry looks good, but the other guards aren't great. Jackson will likely give Duke fits, but I don't see any others who are too scary.

Yeah I know and he will likely help some since he is more experienced. My real point is that UNC, imo, has many of the same weaknesses that they have most years under Roy. A lot of those weaknesses are things that he coaches philosophically that may or may not be the best way to do things. They look really good at times, but, and again this is my opinion, they look beatable.

Every team is beatable. Even if we get all our guys back and they exceed expectation....we're still beatable.

I know it hurts giving UNC credit. Trust me, I get it. Especially when we've spent the last seven months talking about how unbeatable we're going to be and how they lost their two best players. But the reality is this...UNC is really, really good. They're beatable and are going to lose games this season. So are we. They're also going to be among the handful of favorites to win the whole thing. So are we, IMO.

You really think thats equivalent to Duke's injuries???? I will say this however- Roy failed big-time not having Theo on the court at the end of the Nova game. After all he is not only one of your best defenders, but hollered from the bench Jenkins (as the trailer) should be picked up....

I don't think he's comparing UNCs injuries to Duke's whatsoever. He just stated a fact. No one in their right mind thinks UNCs injuries are the equivalent to ours....but they're still playing without a key player (Pinson) and key reserve (Maye). I correlate them losing Pinson somewhat to us losing Amile last season. He's their best defender, a vocal leader and a guy who brings versatility to how (and where) he can play. You won't notice his absence as a casual observer and we'll downplay it (like they did with Amile), but we knew Amile's loss was bigger than just points.

Agreed. He just stated an obvious omission which was a guaranteed starter for them is out.

I disagree that their two best players left from last years team. Berry was better than Paige the last two years. I don't want to sound like Gary who tops his yogurt in the morning with Berrys nuts, but I have always felt he was their best guard since he's been there. Roy limiting his minutes freshman year was an error. They're a better team last year even losing their best player because their more experienced and play as one. Much the same way that our 2010 team was better even though we lost G who was clearly our best player the year before.

We agree to disagree....Sure, fact it is but I still cannot buy into it....I think Duke's ultimate success is CONSIDERABLY more tied to Tatum, Bolden and Giles than UNC's is to Pinson. To be perfectly honest w/you I dont see UNC playing much better at this point w/Pinson than they have, not to mention Big Luke.....Vast differences, JMO- but hey thats why these fun boards exist...Btw, belated happy thanksgiving!

My original point wasn't about whose hurt players are better, it was about the fact that UNC and Duke are both showing their typical program weaknesses at this point in the season. uNC is a little to conservative for some and doesn't try to defend the 3. Duke probably errs on the other side of things. If Dukes guys get back that will help them with the Uber athletic teams that can cause them problems (see Kansas, University of). UNC depends on post play, which has proven to be a weakness in really tough games (see Villanova and Duke last year). Now if UNCs posts dominate then they will do well, but most likely Berry and the guards will have to carry them in tough games and they may do that, but it seems like a weakness to me...but what do I really know.

He said no guard outside of Berry was a threat. And, then said Jackson will give Duke fits.

Well, that is 2 of our 3 perimeter players, and our other starting perimeter player is injured.

The comment did not seem to line up with his analysis.

I think Williams possibly gives us more fits than Theo on the offensive end....I think Theo's strong suits are defense and hustle....JMO

UNC is pretty dangerous as long as Berry keeps playing at an all-American level. When we face off, rebounding will be huge. I'm already pumped for that one. Hopefully Justin Jackson is being checked by Tatum for that one.
