Actually the "knee-high by 4th of July" colloquialism was overridden years ago with better genetics, no-till farming and other practices. The fields are anywhere from 4-7' high now with thousands of teens heading into the fields next week to detassle. The best news outta this (for me) is CFB starts in about 7 weeks!

I 'wood'nt know about such things; I'm sure it goes on albeit on a small scale. The corn & beans are the cash crop here but once in awhile there are tanks of anhydrous ammonia reported stolen so someone's cooking...
