Jelavic is just such a wildcard coming from Europe. I’ve seen people say they think he could be our best player. Others think he’ll be fighting for 9th and 10th minutes. I really don’t know enough to have an opinion.Starters/backup
Lowe-Aberdeen-Chandler
Oweh-Johnson-Noah
Williams-Hawthorne-Jelavic
Dioubate-Garrison
Quaintance-Moreno-Porter
Lowe, Oweh, Williams, Dioubate, Quaintance, Aberdeen, Johnson, Garrison will be top 8 for minutes. Chandler, Hawthorne, Moreno, and Jelavic will be fighting for 9th and 10th minutes.
I also wouldn't be surprised if one of Aberdeen, Johnson, or Garrison start.
Agreed. One thing I like about this team over the 2015 team is that it actually has at least two guys for every position. 2015 had no SF. Cal played two PFs at the 3 spot (Poythress and Lyles). Cal loved to play guys out of position. That team was great, but to nitpick, the 3 spot was our weakness, IMHO.
I think most of us are just being cautious with our expectations for JQ given the severity of the injury. What part of, “JQ says he will be ready before the first game of the season!”, do some of you not understand?
I’ve said it many times before, and I’ll say it again…
Some of you aren’t happy unless you can find some drama to latch on to![]()
Being ready to go and being back to your 100% game shape and having knocked off all rust and having learned to fully trust your body again are not the same thing. What part of, “JQ says he will be ready before the first game of the season!”, do some of you not understand?
