And then add Jo Jo Kemp who is a very solid RB; is it fair to say that this is UKs greatest RB stable in its history?

In my life time, the only other crew I could make a case for would be Adams, Logan and Higgs.
But I think this current group is best.

I can't imagine many programs have ever had two guys gain over 1,000 yards in one season with a game left to play. Actually two games. We all knew Boom was great, but Snell has been a very pleasant surprise. So I'd have to count them among the best backfields in UK history. I think it's an accomplishment this program should be very proud of!
I know Higgs and Logan both made to The League, I can't remember if Adams did or not, but that's a pretty good metric. Given that I might lean a little bit towards this group but not by much.
One thing that hasn't been mention, Coach Gran is a genius when it comes to putting together a running game, that's had a big impact on our RB's ability to crank up those big stats. If Williams returns next year we may have a legit shot at the East IMO, considering everything else we have returning and adding.

Just imagine where we'd be if we had a solid defense and a short passing game. Add those factors and this team will make some real noise on the national scene, not just the SEC.
George Adams was a late first round draft choice of the NY Giants. Unfortunately he was pretty much a bust in the NFL.
One of the best all-time names in sports. Life for that matter.
If I'm not mistaken, George Adams was drafted early in the NFL draft by the New ork Giants. I think he may have been taken 9th.
Little Locke and Smith were a pretty good trio. We threw the ball a ton, so their rushing numbers were lighter than they could have been, but they were all legit backs.

No that isn't fair to say. There are a couple of reasons why Kentucky's running backs are rushing for so much yardage. A valid reason is that they are very good backs. Another valid reason is that Coach Gran calls mostly running plays. The more we run the football, the more rushing yards we rack up. Boom and Benny are a formidable pair of backs, but we had awesome backs in the 80s under Coach Claiborne too.
If Boom comes back, UK definitely has the best RB tandem in the SEC IMO.

George Adams was a first rounder, #19 in 1985
Marc Logan was a 5th rounder, #130 in 1987
Mark Higgs was an 8th rounder, #205 in 1988
I understand we have had so many first rounders they are easy to forget...
Not to be a debbie downer as the boys have run so well and the oline has definitley improved in the run game but I'm not sure we have ever had this stat line..

Bottom 10 nationally in same category with teams with 11 total games.
Of course you can win games with a power running game.
But looking at these other teams with so few passing attempts and so many rushes, we only surpass Tulane and Georgia Southern record-wise...

While true, it's conversely a testament to the running game. We're moving the ball and scoring points despite the clear lack of a passing threat.
If we weren't moving the ball, then the yards and attempts would both be much lower.
And I am excited about having so many of these young players, a lot of them redshirts, that are getting ready to step up and continue our progress. Good young talent at every position, not and never will be on a par with the top SEC teams with great in state talent, but a great step above what we are used to------before the strike.
