Dear Cancel Culture,
I would like to nominate the phrase "With that being said..." for your consideration. It has quickly risen to the top of my annoyance chart. Like no person can just say what they are thinking or what they have decided without some empty platitude or explanation followed by the phrase and what they really want to say. Please find something to be offended about and wipe it from today's vernacular.

Thanks, CatCall

PS: And while you're at it, anything you can do about those Jake from State Farm commercials would be appreciated.

Please add ending sentences with “right?” or any reply consisting of only “I know, right?” to your list

“Here’s the thing”
“You do realize”
“I have a quick question”
“Let me ask you this”

you say those things in my presence, and I’ll kick you in the nuts and Call you a fagette
All things considered...

Space.

When tf did we all turn into lil HGTV stooges?

“Oh I looove what they’ve done with this space. Do you like this space. It’s a great use of this space. It’s a great space for entertaining.”

Yes, it’s a nice room. It’s a ****ing room. Get over yourself.

“Quick question,” is the absolute worse. It’s never quick and it’s almost always during my lunchtime.

Which leads me to, “I know it’s your lunchtime, but …”. No. Leave me alone.

“Paradigm shift,” seems to have gone away. That’s progress.

Honestly, most of the things that adults say bothers me a lot.

The strange "not" added to questions is what gets me as it seems to be ingrained in the local Appalachian dialect.

Do you not know how to ask a question normally?

1. All corporate speak.

“We need to have a conversation to develop an actionable plan that will drive strategic success and mitigate risks at all levels of the enterprise. Circling back per my email last week …”

How about: We’re coming up with a plan to make more money and minimize losses. I emailed you about it Tuesday.

Speak regular English, stop taking 5 minutes to say what can be said in 10 seconds.

2. Scheduling a meeting to talk about a meeting

“Don’t go there!” has got to go.

Same with “Anywho…!”

And please make sure to ban the misuse of the word, literally. Drives me insane. My daughter recently ran a half marathon, and posted about it on social media. The first response was, “You are literally a rock star!”. Ummm, no…NOT literally a rock star. Literally a half marathoner. Figuratively a rock star.
