With the BIG getting 3 into sweet 16

Good job over the weekend, but it would have been better if our two league tournament finalists had held serve in the first round. Indiana has a tough row to hoe thanks to its ridiculous 5 seeding. No way Kentucky-Indiana should have been played the first weekend. Wisconsin did a helluva job, but Hayes has to start playing if they're going to get farther. Happ and Koenig saved them today.

Next year hopefully the vocabulary of the field is expanded with NU being in the sweet 16 and Bryant Mcintosh making a Koenesque type shot

At the beginning of the season we were talking as if we would have 3 in the final four. I think as long as we get at least one into the final four, we should feel ok.

Does that make people feel better about the BIG?
Yes, looks like I won an overreaction award for sure.
I do feel better in comparison to conferences like the Pac 12 and SEC and even the Big 12 that our programs remain strong even in what was definitely a down year for the conference.
It definitely takes SOME of the sting off what Michigan State and Purdue did, but still -- it was really disappointing to see both conference finalists fall in the Round of 64

Anyway, I'll be fine with ONE team in the Sweet 16 next year if that team wears Purple and White.

IN and PU deserved to be 3 seeds.

I actually think that we really got screwed in the seeding or our results would have been better. MSU deserved a1 seed and since no 1 seed has ever gone down in the first round, likely would have fared far better. PU deserved a 3 seed (as did IN). Michigan deserved to not be in a play in game. I thought that they just ran out of gas or they would have beaten ND. Then we would have been talking about how strong the BIG is and how OSU deserved to be in rather than a couple of those 9-9 PAC12 teams. (and we deserved to be in the NIT)

MSU wins that matchup 9 times out of 10, maybe 19 times out of 20, so they can only blame themselves for the loss, seeding be damned.
