They are sound both on Offense under Brohm, but also on defense under Holt. They lead 38-21 going to the 4th qtr. Also, they have good special teams play, covering punts and kicks, and Fant had a big punt return to set up their last TD.

They are entertaining to watch. 11 seconds to go in 3rd quarter & they go for the end zone. Some coaches would run the clock out(not mentioning any names).

They are very good and they have a six year veteran playing QB for them.

That fact shouldn't go unnoticed. If Brohm can now produce a big winner without Doughty I'll jump on his band wagon. Until then I'll reserve judgement. He was passed over for a lot of jobs so others must have questions too. WKU had a great year and should be congratulated.

IDK. Brohm's a good coach, but they have a 6th year QB, a 4th year RB, they had some troubles with a running QB, their defense gave up a bunch of yards & 35 points, they were about a half second or so away from a delay of game penalty on a punt, etc. Their previous game they didn't look so well coached in the first quarter, but they did finish very strong.

I think it would be best to wait to evaluate him after next year.

Yes they gave up 35, but scored 45 and won...that's what I keep saying on this site...THAT IS what it's about today and MS doesn't get it and neither do some on this board...if your are not scoring 30+ pts a game you are not winning many games

But we lost. Scoreboard says we were NOT better. We are sitting home now because of not taking care of business against hapless Vandy. I agree in reality we are better, but who cares... we LOST.

Well, we actually have lost 4 of the last 5 to Vandy, but who cares when we play Western, "we posed to be SEC!"

During the last 20 years, UK has only had 5 teams to average more than 30 per game (97, 98, 02, 07 & 10). And no coach or OC has done it more than twice. Furthermore, those 5 teams had 1 thing in common... Big time offensive playmakers. Scoring 30+ @ UK is more about the talent on the field than it is about the scheme & that is not really debatable, IMHO. Can Brohm out recruit Stoops? That is the big question. He won't always have an NFL caliber 6th year SR @ QB.

Interestingly enough, UK went to 3 bowl games, during Brooks tenure, scoring less than 30 ppg. UK won 8 games, in 2006, averaging just a shade over 26 PPG.

To win @ UK it is not necessarily going to take 30+ PPG, but it will take solid recruiting classes, with an emphasis on offense, defense and special teams, IMHO.

How close to 30 were they...17 - 19 like thus team averaged in conf

Scoring 30 PPG would be a good thing, don't get me wrong! I just don't think that any coach (Petrino, Mumme, Brohm, Leach or anybody else) is going to do it automatically, in the SEC, without some really good player makers. That is what Rich Brooks said that we lacked... And I agree with him.

Yes, that works in CUSA, AAC, MAC, Sun Belt. It's also infinitely easier to score 30+ points game in and game out in those leagues. They don't have the defensive talent and speed of the SEC. We are evidence of just how difficult it is to stockpile SEC caliber depth on defense. So yeah, scoring 30+ in the SEC would produce more victories, but 30 points is easier said than done in the big boy league, regardless of system.

WOW...you need to go look at scores of the better teams in the SEC...you could not be more wrong By a long shot!!!!!!!!!!

CBS Sport Article suggesting that Kentucky should go after Jeff Brohm...from the article:

The most logical place for Brohm to wind up would be right down the road in Lexington. Kentucky coach Mark Stoops struggled again in 2015 to another 5-7 season and people are beginning to speculate whether or not things will pan out for Bob's brother. His starting quarterback from the last two seasons, Patrick Towles, had enough of it and decided to transfer to Boston College. If the kingdom is crumbling, Brohm could take the reins and run with it.

"We try to play an exciting brand of football on offense," Brohm said. "We take a lot of pride in it. Our defense is vastly improved. Is everything perfect? No. But that's what makes it fun. We're constantly working to improve. We've got our worked cut out for us in the future, but we're gonna enjoy this one."

Good for WKU. They are a very good football team. They are clearly a better run football program from top to bottom. We will find out if Stoops can get it done but if he can't then we need to find a replacement from the ranks of men who have been successful as a HC at some level. If not Brohm then someone like him.

Brohm would NEVER come to UK. Ever. He's a Brohm.

When Petrino screws up or finds better pastures, Brohm will be coaching on Floyd Street.

Great article about Brohm in SI. He didn't get job offers because he turned down all interview offers. He would not interview while his team was still playing. Class and integrity that is all too rare anymore...

God what a freaking crock. Prelim talks are with agents, gives the coach a chance to deny the story. No, the Mother Teresa of coaching got bypassed probably because of questions about how he'd do without a 6th year QB. Hope he didn't dislocate his shoulder patting himself on the back.

Dang you really hate him don't you. You won't give him credit at all. What are you gonna do if he ends up at UK?

Their program smacked us around a couple years back when they just stepped up to Div I from being a Div II school and would do it again this year. Just don't understand the hate from you.

Brohm does not have an agent. Don't understand anybody hating on him for being a stand up guy, but with some on this board, you never know. Perhaps you should read the article before rendering judgement.
