That game suggests the worst-case scenario for the season is very much in play. It's a tough opener for a team losing its best player by far on both ends. But even though Coach Joe might have as much potential depth as he's had since he got to Evanston, there's no clear difference-maker on either end. It was particularly discouraging that Mel Daley only played 5 minutes.
A lot of time left to figure it out, and the conference schedule is reasonably favorable. But in the first game of the post-Veronica era, the point guards had 10 turnovers and 1 steal. Gotta get better production than that!
