Better Friday night wrestling than the mens. Not just Hawks, but all looking to score and pin. Fun stuff.
I thought North Central would be better off in this round. They had a #6 and a #3 seed upset (a DQ?) by in Round 2. Iowa with 9 in the championship bracket and 1 consolation (#14 Leng with that huge fall). Same as McKendree. But we are up 13 points on McKendree, and hopefully more bonus points coming with those upper weights.
Disappointing loss there, killed the momentum and don't even get a head to head tomorrow.
13 points below us (50 to 37 now) but two less wrestlers alive in the tournament.
I must say, there are a crazy number of headlocks thrown.

Almost like she lost her breath or something? Definitely odd.
Exact same way she lost at regionals to the same girl. Kept getting into body locks where neither wrestler could do anything. Awful match strategy by Katja to keep playing into it

McKendree 89, Iowa 82.5. Iowa with 7 in the semis. McKendree has 9. Pulled out some close matches where we didn't.
You had two weeks to come up with a strategy against the Wartburg girl other than pushing for 6 minutes, and they decided last time's losing one was the way to go again.
Hawks down 12 after quarters and have 7 in semis. McKendree has 9 in semis. No room for error tomorrow.

Was hoping Cali would get a couple wins on the backside, wish Isabella Gonzales could've won that weight because her ceiling was higher but she didn't go out and earn it. Going to need about six champs at this rate, but they did it two years ago so can't completely rule it out.
