Wonder if Buie's hurt

Seems like he's not moving well, a step slower than normal and harder for him to dribble drive. Remember he got yanked and twisted down at the end of the OSU game and then had the knee to the thigh at Michigan. Just seems like he's not himself physically right now.

Not sure that explains his inability to make ANY shot.
Sure makes it harder. Lot of shots have been short which maybe because of no legs. I told a friend last night that in order to win, NU had to get some descent play out of the guards and they have basically disappeared. Better get it together soon...

Seems a reasonable question. He is about 1/20 over the last 3 games and the rest of his game has not really been there either

If he is hurt, the Cats have a big problem. He's one of the few guys on the team who can create his own shot. B1G teams suffocate static offenses.

Based on tonight's perofrmacne, after 6 days off, I'd say he's seriously hurt.....

I thought that 3 games ago he got kneed in the thigh and wasn't moving around great. He was moving better tonight, but teams have figured out how to defend him. Somehow it's ok to push him around and he isn't able to draw the foul. It happens when he's off the ball too. This also happened last year but I attributed it to the injury.

The guy Buie needs to model his game after is Cassius Winston. Somehow he was able to draw fouls, get into the paint, pass, do it all. Winston obviously had a better supporting cast. Buie could eventually be a better shooter.

The only place Buie is hurting right now is inside his mind. I love his game but he is a mental basket case at the moment. He blew two layups and he couldn't buy a three until the end of the game. If we're going to be good we need him to be a significant contributor.

I'm really surprised Buie is the constant source of questions on this board. I'm not saying his game shouldn't be questioned, but there's another guy or two who ALSO regularly doesn't get the most out of what they have. Then they suddenly wake up for three minutes each half.

1-11 from three in the first half is a killer! And so many of those were good shots.

And not one field goal in the first half from a starter besides Audige?

This goes beyond Buie.

The optimistic side of me wants to hope this is all part of development.

I think Buie is the subject of comment because several of the players we have are basically standup three-point shooters. Unless we have a guy who can "drive, draw, and dish" as Vitale used to say, our jump shooters are not as effective.

A good point, as always Sect. 112. What strikes me is the shot selection for Boo. Three of those attempts last night were just bizarre shots. And, I don't know if we are thinking of the same person, but yes, one could say the same thing about a couple 16-foot contested fall away shots from the baseline that one under-achieving player tossed up last night.

Boo has made poor shot selections and even missed some layups that normally go in. It's mostly in his head at this point. He obviously needs to play much better.

Last 4 games, all losses, made only 2 shots:
dOSU 1-9 (1-6) 5 pts
Ill 0-6 (0-1) 0 pts
Mich 0-6 (0-2) 0 pts
Io 1-8 (0-4) 2 pts

Previous 3 B1G games, all wins:
dOSU 6-11 (2-4) 14 pts
IU 4-8 (3-5) 11 pts
MSU 9-15 (5-6) 30 pts

Why do we play him 35 minutes and not give him a break with a TRUE PG in Berry? Does Berry have to go through some seniority system first? WTH is going on around here? I hope Berry doesn't fall into the same cloth as that one player that Collins always raised the bar for. I forget his name, he wore number 12 and did well when he was allowed to play. Ended up leaving the program because of the stubborn madness of Collins.

Berry needs to take full advantage of the minutes he is allowed. He doesn't seem comfortable and looks like he is afraid to make a mistake. Kid just needs to play ball and DO WHAT HE DOES. Mistakes will come but so what. Play the damn game how you know how to. Do what you do. Loosen up. WTH?
