Just got started on woodworking projects recently. Hope to retire June of next year. Looking to supplement income by woodworking projects. Anybody have any ideas &/or
suggestions of fairly simple projects to make that will sell.
We have basic tools such as table saw, miter saw, scroll saw, sander. drill press, etc.
Thanks.

Ebony may be too much for some.

Farm tables are fairly easy to make. Boxes of any kind done well should net you pretty good return.
Beyond that the ideas are endless. If you're in Lexington, check out Woodcraft off Palumbo, close to Man O' War. Staff is knowledgeable and good assistance for most endeavors.
A lot of people are doing neat things with pallets these days. Google it, and you'll see a lot of homemade furniture, even a miniature home made from them.
Good luck.

Custom doors are a hit here in Louisville. A lot of shops have no issue on the cabinet boxes or bookcases but the doors are an issue.

If you can get into that market there is some value there.

You retire early? My father had an exceptional woodshop in a two floor barn and he quit precisely because he was getting close to retirement.

At our local gas station (farm town), one of the locals was chatting it up with us. Dad and him started talking about woodworking. Guy only had 3 fingers and said "Don't woodwork into your 60's, you'll slip eventually".

My dad stopped at 60. Now at 65, I don't think he could handle a drum sander and such. Just food for thought.

I could use a quality St. Andrews cross and a set of stocks with padded leather lining. Need to keep it on the down low, though.
