WTF???
You hire a strength and conditioning coach to specialize in developing a training regimen tailored to basketball. Ben has done that and it seems his past success has resulted partly from their great conditioning. Don't think we have to worry about the players getting too bulked up.That's exactly how Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Ronnie Lester, Fred Brown, John Johnson, Sam Williams, Pete Maravich, et al. became great basketball players . . . livin' in the weight room. Yes, I miss the game of basketball, and I hate the game of indoor rugby. But don't worry. I'm sure it's just me.
BTW: Developing stamina so you can play 40 minutes every game and increasing flexibility to avoid all these hamstring, groin, and other muscle-related soft tissue injuries is great. But bulking up so you look like Mr. (or Ms.) Universe is contrary to the very nature of basketball and, as the overwelming evidence shows, it just leads to injuries that you never used to see.
Glad to see more emphasis on this ..could help offset some of the paper height gaps vs taller lineups?
Based on the 2nd video, looks like Trevin Jirak is gonna be playing decent minutes.
A better Sandfort?
Definitely as good as Dix, it appears.
Too bad we only get him one year.

It will be interesting to see if this is the starting lineup and who is part of the main rotation.

agree. at drake a short rotation might have been necessary to get results but if he has found the right players at iowa maybe bmac plays a lot of guys.It seems a little strange that there hasn't been as much chatter about the potential starting lineup as there usually would be. I think it's because almost all these guys are new, and none of us have really seen these guys in action. It's actually a bit jarring to see the graphic above, and see all five potential starters wearing something other than a Hawkeye uniform.
With that said, I think the projection above might very well be correct. I could also see Howard or Koch taking Banks' spot.
It's been said that McCollum prefers short rotations, sometimes with only 7 or 8 guys playing, but I expect to see a larger rotation next year, with Stirtz, Hausen, Banks, Folgueiras, Manyawu, Combs, Howard, Koch, Jirak, and Thompson all seeing action. That's 10 guys. I don't know who you leave out. You could even see Sage getting time, which would give you 11. To be clear, I'm not expecting an 11-man rotation; it's just hard for me to see who gets left on the bench -- each guy brings something to the table.
