US called up Chrisitan Pulisic, a 17 year old playing in Germany - I assume to get him a cap to lock him in. He's playing in the top division in Germany so would love to see him play.

He has taken the Bundesliga by storm... even though he only has 4 appearances his play has been really good. I also say call up Miazga

Just to kinof show what the "world" thinks of the kid.... On Fifa 16 he is 66 rated as a 16 year old (which is really good), and has a potential of 84

Well EA sports thinks he could be great I'm sold.

I knew I was going to leave myself open to that lol... I have him on my career...love playing with him... really solid technically...

He has great technical ability on the ball and is really good at pushing upfield in space which none of our midfielders do. Look at the touch he has on his through balls....perfectly weighted.... he has really good vision and is creative when attacking....He is everything our national team needs...now he has drawbacks, such as his age and experience but I'm so tired of trotting guys out in the midfield that cant press forward or handle any sort of pressure...

@Vandalayindustries I think it would be interesting to put Nagbe, Zardes, Pulisic and Bradley out there at the same time and just see what the attack looks like. You have good Pace with Zardes, Nagbe and Pulisic, and 3 creative guys who can deliver balls into threatening areas of the pitch.

That was certainly a shocking result. I've been as big of a JK supporter as anyone but that was just bad. Need to rebound in a big way Tuesday. Man, that was pretty depressing though. We just have a gaping black hole in the midfield.

The thing I love about Klinsmann is how he invested in the youth. Problem is we have a lot of our good players on the back end of their career and then it drops to 16 and 17 year olds. That's a big gap. We HAVE to win tomorrow... 1 for qualifying purposes, 2 for some sort of momentum going into Copa America Centenario. If I'm Jurgen, I get a lot of youth a lot of experience this summer...we have to since we didn't qualify for the Confederation Cup.

Man, I'm missing some good games while here at work.

I got US beating Nicaragua 1-0 (Jozy!) and beating Colombia 1-0. Hopefully we have some good crowds tonight. I'm sure Columbus will bring it but will Dallas? And how much of a Colombian contingent will there be in Columbus? Like none, right?

Well I'm here on the couch watching the pregame and it's truly amazing how much so many former players (Twellman, Keller, Donovan, Lalas) really hate JK.

I like the front line of tonight's lineup (Zardes, Dempsey, Wood), but don't understand the Beckerman move as he's one of my least favorite players (on the national team at least).

Also Carlos Ruiz made the trip for Guatemala.

I don't know if the European philosophy will ever work here unfortunately. He's probably done a ton for US soccer that we won't notice for many years, but I question his decision making. I'd love to hear others' (those that are more expert than I) thoughts, but I don't think we'll be among the best in the world until we start getting our best athletes. Maybe we are now finally getting enough and we have finally the system in place to develop them, but it may be 2-3 world cups before we see any progress. I do wish we could fix the college system though - that should be JK's next goal.

Also, game isn't even sold out :weary:

Just saw that it wasn't sold out.... The problem is the European style relies on possession like none other and in turn requires players with an elite level of skill and creativity.. We don't have that.. What we saw in the last couple of world cups are teams found a way to combat that... Which essentially was press up with your strikers and wingers and force turnovers in bad areas of the field and give up possession and bunker in defensively but hit quick off of counter attacks... Chile murdered Spain doing that... And Costa Rica made a huge run and beat high quality teams doing the same.... It requires a ton of pace though.. I like the front 3 tonight of zardes and wood as wings and Dempsey as a CF.

Best we have looked in a long time.. I really like Pulisic... Wish on the Altidore goal he could've spotted Pulisic on the left and gave it to him for his first goal... Oh well..... Pulisic had a gear that no one outside of Yedlin has.... He is so calm in the ball and has great movement... Very confident, very technical.

Devistating loss for our u-23.....but I agree with the announcers, we didn't lose our Olympic spot to Colombia, we lost it when we got beat by Honduras.

Jordan Morris has been MIA since turning pro.

Wanna hear a sad stat... In 180 minutes against Colombia, we had 1 shot on target....... 1

I turned off the U23 match after Colombia went up 2-1, but just going through it now - the red card on Gil was a complete joke - one of the worst calls I've ever seen.

Good job by the national team though - looked good.

I think we found something last night... I think the front 4 of Dempsey as a CF, wood and zardes as wingers and Bradley pushing up a lot in that CAM role is money.. The threat and pace of zardes and wood really opens things up.. Joys is a perfect striker sub.. Kinda like how Lukaku was for Belgium against us.... A big, fast, strong, physically imposing presence that will come in fresh against worn down back line guys for the opposing team.

I like how Becker man played but he is 33...he is almost done.... I'd like to see Cameron in that CDM role... Stoke has moved him there and he has been excellent.. The major question is with Fabian Johnson... He is tearing it up lately for his club because they moved him into a winger/midfield position... I don't think he is a LB but we don't have any other options there and putting him there IMO is a huge disservice.

Pulisic needs tons of minutes in cops america.... I don't care if he is 17 he is our best player on the ball under pressure and has a gear speed wise no one but yedlin can match.
