Berhalters job is to give us a chance to win. He failed miserably. Hard to put it on the players when they have to cover absurd amounts of ground because of berhalter awful tactics

Teams that win find open players making runs into the box we just throw it in the box and hope it finds someone. Pulisik goal against Iran he just ran into the ball with his body and brute forced it in not really skill but more being in the right place at the right time.
Problem is we have no mf to track. The late guy is mf task to mark. They already gassed bc we play a very attack heavy formation.

Just a bad match up for a smaller team. US can't get anything going from lobs. They have zero margin to give on open looks and went 0 for 2. And right now, NED is just bigger and better.

You don’t understand the importance of having numbers in the mf and how that prevents these individual breakdowns. You lose mf like we have the entire half when the Dutch have the ball you have no shot. Adams should have tracked. And in dest case a mf should be there to not allow that ball to come across. Dest is gassed from having to play an attack mf role and get back to defend. Yes tactics matter led to the entire break down. I mean look at the massive gap in front of our defenders.
They are young and made it to knockouts, lets hope the experience pays off and in 4 years we can figure out how to score. Quit over thinking and play more instinctive on offense.
Weah's shot was available 3-4 times before and would have been even better chances since there was more traffic in front of their GK.

Achilles heal is 3 mf. You can’t even think about your number 9 if you lose mf. Look at the difference between how the Dutch defend that back angle vs the USA. Both times the usa had 4 defenders and a massive gap between our defenders and mf. The Dutch defenders don’t have to worry about defending that ball bc their mf falls back and takes the pressure off.
