I did read a few of the 322 and the different things it may describe, but soccer and Iowa fit everyone so far.
I think Super Big actually used a word that emcompasses 322 others, and every one describes soccer and clarkeyes.

World Cup 26 was a huge economic, political, athletic sport, and social success.
The United States, Canada, and Mexico did a spectacular job at administering and hosting the games. The level of play was just superb. and many many folks from around the globe found out for themselves that the United States isn't what .they are consuming when they watch CNN when they are at their home country.
I thank everyone on this board for playing along and participating in the chatter and providing their opinions. Many of the aspects about Soccer that folks have brought up and expressed their distaste are frequently viewed as distasteful by Soccer fans as well. It's just the way it is (over the years I've sent FIFA my opinions on rule changes). However, sometimes it's the imperfections of a sport that can become entertaining as well.

I expected both teams to get a shot on goal at some point during the game.
Well I guess you can credit Spains defense and Ball control, or you can Call Messi the worlds best soccer player and ask him how they can’t get a shot on goal, it’s your call.

Not just best soccer player - ESPN just called him the greatest athlete of all tiime, in ANY sport.
Hmmm... Didn't exactly feel like Jordan's 63 against Bird, Ali's knockout of Foreman, Phelps winning 8 golds in 8 races or Gretzky scoring 50 goals in 39 games. But what do I know.... ESPN has a narrative.
The crazy thing was...I sort of just figured that was normal. Like, I just assumed that most soccer games end up with one team not getting a single shot on goal.
Probably not quite that extreme. Even in a 1-0 game both teams get 3-5 shots probably. I am old school in baseball I would rather watch a1-0 well played game then a 7-6 with walks and errors. In 1985 I was in KC they were playing Cleveland KC was good then Brett Saberhagen was pitching. Can’t remember Cleveland’s pitcher. I t was a double no hitter for 6 innings. KC won 1-0 and there was like 3 hits total. It was one of the best games I ever watched because with the double no hitter players were making web jems left and right. Like I said I would rather watch a game like that rather then . A high scoring game with walks and errors
Argentina doesn't waste energy on attacking...they defend and then counter-attack. Spain is the best in the world at holding the ball, passing and do not make mistakes in the mid-field. Had Spain scored earlier(they could have had like 6 goals), then likely Argentina gets more aggressive. They were completely out-matched on paper but it was conceivable to get to penalties and win there, and they almost did. The fact Spain failed to score kept Argentina from taking any risks as they are pretty old and a back and forth game isn't really in their best interest. Think 2009 Huskers...run, run, short pass, punt. Win 12-9. We had a better chance of scoring on defense than on offense and played to our strengths.

FIFA rakes in billions from global markets all over the world. They still don’t generate as much money as the NFL of course. Just goes to show the economic powerhouse that is the US of A.
