World Team Trials Challenge Tournament – May 14-15, 2026 @ TBD 5) The event only appliesin weight categories where a 2025 Senior Men’s Freestyle World Medalist did not accept their automatic berth to Final X or where there is no 2025 Senior Men’s Freestyle World Medalist
When is the last time SVN wrestled freestyle? There's an important caveat in the link you posted
There will be no WTT Challenge Tournament at the following weights. The Open Champ will face the returning medalist at Final X as long as that defending medalist chooses to compete.
65kg - Real Woods 2025 Bronze
79kg - Levi Haines 2025 Silver
86kg - Zahid Valencia 2025 Gold
92kg - Trent Hidlay 2025 Gold
97kg - Kyle Snyder 2025 Gold
Blaze may have the option to go 65kg at the Open, win and he faces Woods. Lose and he may be able to go 65kg at the WTT.
I'm curious to see if SVN tries to make the cut to 65.
Does Levi start to descend to 74 for an Olympic run in '28.
Maybe Levi goes up to 86 kg for 2028?There's an important caveat in the link you posted

Not sure Van Ness is interested in freestyle. Hasn't wrestled freestyle in a whileThere's an important caveat in the link you posted

USABracketing says Last Chance Qualifier 2021, it's been a while. Before that it was 2019 Cadet Worlds. When is the last time SVN wrestled freestyle?
Maybe, that looks like a lot of weight to put on. I'm just guessing at this point.Maybe Levi goes up to 86 kg for 2028?
I thought it had been a while. I wonder why, just doesn't like freestyle? Focusing on getting & staying healthy? If I remember right he's been a little injury plagued going back to highschool? Feels like he'd be a pretty good freestyle guyUSABracketing says Last Chance Qualifier 2021, it's been a while. Before that it was 2019 Cadet Worlds.

I honestly have no idea. I'm not any sort of insider at all. I'm literally the only person in my life I know that watches college wrestling lmao. A previous post from someone who seems to know much more than I do references the fact certain weights won't be contested at WTT and such. Hopefully my hope for starting the thread at least, other much more knowledgeable and connected posters will hop in and spew their knowledge and help us all out lolDoes this mean these guys probably won’t be at US Open in Vegas in April?
That’s where I live so I was going to check it out
Levi is already in Final X. So it looks like others either need to win the US Open or WTT? So many will probably be there?
Seems like everyone but Levi has a good reason to go to US OpenI honestly have no idea. I'm not any sort of insider at all. Final X Match to determine the representative pits the winner of US Open vs winner of WTT. So two chances. Levi is already qualified for Final X
Thanks I forgot to mention that. Should be a large contingent at US OpenWeights with guy already in Final X will only wrestle at US Open. US Open winner will wrestle guy already in Final X. No WTT for those weights. All weights with nobody already in Final X will wrestle US Open and WTT with winner of each meeting in Final X. So all weights wrestled at US Open but not at WTT.
Clarify? You seemed to think Levi would stay down at 79 for ‘26 and possibly ‘27 even if he wanted (needed probably more accurate) to go 86 in ‘28 when I asked in the odds and ends thread. And this is the ‘26 thread.Maybe Levi goes up to 86 kg for 2028?
