Wake Forest, Arizona, Michigan St. , Rutgers, and many more ranked way ahead of us on the “you suck” list. It’s all perspective.

Thanks for that, Rising Tide Ray.
Ray did vastly improve the overall standing of the athletic department. We suck at the 3 sports people care about. Hyman destroyed the whole department but was rewarded because Spurrier and Tanner were winning in the sport people cared about.

Anyone could have seen Paris would be a failure.

Football was a little more of a challenge as Muschamp was about the 6th choice and when we hired Beamer there wasn't a line of great candidates either.

Now the 4 buyouts contracts: Beamer, Muschamp, Martin and Paris...Tanner should be arrested for that.

Curt Cigneti was available at JMU for a decade and Gregg Marshall has been available for 2 decades.

I'd call Ed Orgeron or Tim Polasek and Gregg Marshall and try to win.

You lost me at "Ed Orgeron."

When is the last time all 3 men's programs were unmitigated disasters. Not just down years but disasters.

This tells you all you need to know about our program. We've been giving this kid the full court press for well over a year. Kiffin flipped him in 72 hours.

Very early 90s.

Rhode Island Dork,
I didn’t make up the list of 4 program’s worse than us. Pulled it off a search for “the worst ncaa athletic programs.” That’s why I said it’s all perspective. We actually were 23rd in the Learfield Director’s Cup, up from 30 the previous year. But that’s not the point. What is the point is that our program is way under performing. I think we all agree on that. It doesn’t need to be exaggerated, it’s quite evident.

You look at other programs with much less money and facilities not in the same universe as SC doing better in all phases by miles. At the end of the day you have to accept its just not in the cards for SC. SC has something wrong with it. Not sure it can be fixed.

Again, all Tanner, board of trustees, and a fanbase that shows up and gives $ no matter what. Zero incentive for usc to build a winner bc the $ flows anyway. Did you ever go back repeatedly to a terrible restaurant that continuously burns your food, screws up the bill, and the staff is rude? That’s the abusive relationship that we ALLOW. It’s ok to demand more. We hear sec money…klempson doesn’t have $ like Ohio state or Michigan. Hell Bama doesn’t have $ like those schools. But they make it work bc it’s a priority and alumni/fans DEMAND it.

Even taking into account who did the hiring, how is it possible for us to suck in all 3 men's sports at the same time?

Just because it’s bad now doesn’t mean it can’t be fixed, history doesn’t support that argument. Baseball, 2 Natty’s, MBB, Final 4 and a SEC Championship game appearance and a few 11-2 years in football . Those things did happen and not in ancient history. Don’t say it can’t happen, it has happened. It’s not happening now, so fix it. The argument that we can’t have strong programs in the SEC doesn’t hold water, we have done it before. No more loser mentality.

Ray Tanners legacy is this
Tanner is making a $Million a year and has 3 more years on his contract. The entire college sports world has gone insane, bullcrap to be paying a failed AD a Million a year to be "athletics director emeritus and senior advisor to the president, focusing on fundraising and community engagement.” What exactly is "community engagement"? And fundraising obviously isn't anywhere near where it needs to be.

It starts with fans bending over.

Need I continue?

No one gives 2 damns about that directors cup. There are 2 sports that move the needle: football & men's basketball. All the others are also rans. Rutgers may be the only power 4 school comparable.

I don’t give a damn about it either. Just stating the facts. By the way Texas won it, I wouldn’t mind being in their shoes.
