Would MB pull the trigger after year 2 like he did with Billy G?

He will get 3. He will be on a warm seat if this season finishes the way it's looking like it will. We badly need our PGs shoulder to get better that is if he hasn't opted for surgery yet I've been out of the loop the last few days.

As long as Rupp stays full and UK sports revenue doesn't dip, Mitch will keep Pope as long as he wants.

He went to the Sweet 16 in year one. Billy lost 14 games and got an undeserved 11 seed and bounced first round, and then went NIT the next year, also got kicked out of so many bars around town, got caught with coeds, had questionable practice and disciplinary methods, and a big drinking problem.

Pope won’t win a title here but he’s not going to be canned. Look at this program and how long they have kept Stoops.

Kentucky fans aren’t going to be patient on this. Say what you will about Billy G, but we played good defense and rarely got blown out. We have zero defensive identity and played two teams so far and been down by 20 or more in both. Make no mistake, year three isn’t certain

Billy wasn’t working with someone else's $20 million either.

I would fire Barney offer pope the cal ambassador job which is basically the GM. Hire the man made for the job for crying out loud. Pay him whatever it takes before UNCheat gets the guy. Bama was just a stepping stone

Obviously BG was a train wreck and a mess in multiple ways, but MB cut him loose after year 2. Would Pope’s history with the program prevent MB from admitting a mistake and moving on quickly?
He wouldn’t have fired BCG had BCG not wanted out.

In 2008, we went 18-13 with horrendous losses to teams like Gardner Webb and San Diego. We had at least six losses that year by double digits.

L to Gardner Webb by 16
L to Indiana by 19
L Vandy by 41
L Louisville by 14

Next year, lost 14 games including one to VMI and got blown out by UNC and SC that year too.

We just watched Mitch not do anything to Calipari after a stretch of a losing season, a first rd loss to a 15 seed, a second round loss, and another first round loss to a 14 seed- and no SEC finals appearance during that time and Mitch still didn’t fire Cal.

Yeah I guess I successfully forgot that. Yikes, wish you didn’t remind me

It's way deeper than Lowe's shoulder. This team is soft. Lowe is soft. Pope is soft.

Pope might want out if this season is a disaster. Fans and boosters won’t be kind considering the sky high expectations this team had.
Two of his daughters and his wife looked absolutely miserable in the first half.

Year three wouldn't be certain with real ADs. Mitch would never can Pope short of a decade of 2nd round exits.

Oh yeah for sure. It's pitiful that this team was touted as a lock down defensive team full of dawgs that werent gonna be punked that were athletic enough to overcome the defensive issues of last year and there's not one kid on the entire team I've seen and dawg at all out of. Mo maybe on a 6-4 kid from a mid major but other than that we are not even pups not to mention dawgs.

The thing is, you have to keep control of the team. If he doesnt have their respect and they rule the roost to speak, this will NEVER work. In some ways its worse than a coach not being great at offense or defense or what not... if he cant control the team he has to go
