That's a stupid take.
Did Rupp's fizzle out undo all the good he did for the program?
What about Joe Hall?
What about Tubby?
One can argue that it was time for all of them to go but we appreciated the good years. The only one who's departure did not make sense was Pitino, and even he says it was a mistake.
Cal returned Kentucky to the "it" program which it had not been in a while. He declined & it was time for him to go. But we can appreciate the good years. How quickly we forget! And how unappreciative this corrupt generation is. A bunch of babies that demand instant success & then dump you like a ***** when finished with you.
The same can be said about your take that it's stupid.
Cal stayed 5 years too long and that was on him he could've left on his own way before he did ( which was a breach of contract speaking to Arkansas without permission) but instead he chose to stay and continue his downward spiral and his robbing of the University. Cal never returned us to the it program we were UK before him and we will be UK after him. That's any coach that's coached here!
I wasn't born when Rupp was coach but knowing our history the man built the program and prestige to what it is today and his 4 Championships say A LOT !
Joe B Hall was coach before I was born and left when I was just a toddler so I really don't know but he played for us and he won a Championship here so he bled UK blue.
Pitino left when he had UK on top of the mountain and left UK in excellent shape he was made Boston head coach and GM. So in his eyes it made sense to him and his family at the time! I know he says he regrets leaving and he's been the best coach of my lifetime!
As for Tubby he stayed longer than what he should've but he never lost to the teams that I showed in my post above, never took us to the NIT, and he didn't have the worst record in school history!
Hey we live in AMERICA you have your opinion and I'll have my opinion. Even though my opinion is backed up by facts.
