Would UK accept an ACC invitation?

All time yes. But currently there is no comparison. And really the only thing that is relevant is how things are at the current moment in my opinion. FSU has won 5 of the last 6 against UF. And FSU is outrecruiting UF at the current moment as well. Can that change? Well, history says it goes in cycles. But again, the only thing that really matters at the present time is how things are right now.
No, you're wrong in saying that "the only thing that matters is right now". Conference affiliations are long term investments and decision trees. No one can logically look at UF and FSU over the long term and say that one is vastly superior to the other. Even if you want to limit the decision to recent history, UF won two national championships within the last ten years, so it's not as if their glory days are in the 1950s and 60s. No doubt FSU currently has the upper hand, but the shoe was on the other foot not that long ago. I know you hate them and their your rival (hell, we don't like them either), but let's be reasonable in our analysis.

Ok, let's go back to 1987 which is when FSU's Dynasty Days started and three years before Spurrier got to UF. There have been 31 games played between FSU and UF since 1987. FSU is 18-12-1 against UF since 1987. That's a 60% winning percentage with a huge sample size. FSU has won 3 National Championship and UF has won 3 National Championships since that time. But the Head to Head record is hardly even close to equal.

No, and I can't imagine they'd ever want us. Conference realignment is all about football, and we don't bring a prestigious enough football program. They do not care about Basketball, no conference does. It's just a bonus.

Second, we'd be batpoop insane to ever leave the SEC. More money than all the other conferences, more exposure, more stability.
I think we would be more competitive in the ACC. Outside of Florida State and Clemson, I think we would be competitive with any of the rest of the ACC. We are just a couple of steps behind Louisville and with another couple of good recruiting years and some more wins, we will be even with Louisville. Having said that, I don't want to leave the SEC! If we ever become more competitive in the SEC, we will have much more credibility than we would have in the ACC.

Yeah, we might be more competitive, but they don't want us. I'm sure the SEC would dump us if they could, but since we're an original member, that'll never happen. The money, exposure, and the TV contract are the best around. If things ever end up out of the NCAAs hands, we'll be whisked along with the SEC's mega conference because we're a traditional member. Being in the SEC is literally the safest place you can be as far as remaining relevant into the future of football. Again, we'd be crazy to leave.

LOL, 18-12-1 is not exactly world domination. and you pick 1987, but if you pick 1996 or 2006 or 1976, then your stats are different. At the end of the day, you have two powerhouse schools in the most talent-rich state that each have three NATIONAL titles (and UF probably would have more if they had been playing in the ACC during that time). Like i said, it's a wash.

I picked 1987 because that was the year FSU became a National Powerhouse. Before that FSU was climbing the ladder. That was 29 years ago. And no, I wouldn't call 18-12 close.

But, again, your data is not conclusive in saying that UF and FSU are world's apart. Kudos to FSU for winning 60% of its games against its chief rival over the last 30 years. Kudos to UF on winning 3 titles over the last 30 compared to its rival FSU also winning three while coming out of what was a pitiful football conference over much of that same timeframe. FSU is ahead in the rivalry as of right now, no doubt about it; but, the pendulum has swung back and forth quite a bit. It wasn't all that long ago that FSU was losing to Wake forest several years in a row.
