I've stayed on the Queen Mary in Long Beach, CA before and honestly never felt or seen anything but it was a fun stay.

Virginia has St. Albans Sanatorium that's less than two hours from where I am located. Supposed to be one of the most haunted places on the east coast. Apparently in pre-COVID times they set up a haunted house inside the sanatorium, yes a haunted house inside a haunted sanatorium. Don't know if they have resumed it or not.

I've always tried to get family or friends to go with me for a tour or the haunted house thing or literally anything. No one ever wants to go with me. I sure as **** am not about to go by myself.

I don't believe in Ghosts tho so maybe its a different experience if you do believe.
I swear a house I used to live in was haunted. IT was a big, old house. It was allegedly used as a Civil War hospital at one point, or at least that's what I was told. I couldn't find any history on the house. The school I was working at turned it into an apartment and rented out bedrooms to employees for cheap for athletics staff because unless they were administrative, a head coach, or a top assistant, they were getting paid ****.

So anyway, I worked in a non-coaching position, so minimal travel. Everyone else in the house was a coach, so they were gone a lot, especially on weekends for games and recruiting. So often I would be there by myself or with only one other person there at night and on weekends. I swear that place was haunted. Nothing crazy though. But **** wasn't right. All the below stuff would occur somewhat regularly when I was there. It was hard to isolate it to potential paranormal activity when others were there because the noises could easily be chalked up to something another human being did. But when no one else was there? Definitely weird.

When I first moved in, I was the only one living in there. I kept all the entry/exit doors to the house locked. All the other bedrooms were locked. I would hear what sounded like a heavy object being pushed around the floor from the bedroom above mine. First time it happened I went up and checked, door was locked. I looked under the door and there wasn't anything on the floor.

Other times I would be in the house all by myself and it would sound like someone was walking back and forth either in the hall outside my bedroom, up/down the stairs, or in the hallway upstairs. This wasn't just an old house making noises or wind playing crazy tricks, it would go on for sometimes several minutes. First couple times it would happen I'd go and check to see if someone had come home and there was nobody else there.

A few times I would hear in the bedroom beside mine what sounded like an animal with claws running across the floor or a bird flying around the room. First time I heard it, I actually called campus police to check it out (the door was locked, it was an unoccupied bedroom) because if a bird had somehow gotten in there it probably wouldn't get out and die in there. Alas, there was nothing to be found.

At least twice I was in the house by myself and I would hear bedroom doors slam shut. These were doors that were latched shut and locked. I checked them after I heard the noise. And when they are closed all the way they stay latched in pretty damn solidly. These are pretty heavy doors, but they can drift some on their own. My door would drift to the point where it could make contact with the door frame but never enough to where it would drift completely shut. These doors aren't going to get blown open or slammed shut by mere forces of nature. Only way under normal circumstances that they are getting opened or slammed shut is with human intervention.

There was some other stuff that happened too but I can't remember it at the moment. I missed having a gigantic bedroom but I don't miss the paranormal stuff.

I never saw any actual ghosts. One of the other residents left one night because he claimed he saw one. He returned the next day to get all his belongings and he moved in with his girlfriend. He refused to ever go back in the house.

There is a house in Danville located on a farm. It was either the first or second stone house built in Kentucky and owned by William Crow, the son of John Crow who founded Danville.

here is the house:

We used to have parties behind the house. One night me and a friend decided to stay in there. We sat in the room just beyond the front door in fold out chairs facing opposite directions. We sat there for about 2 hours with no incidence until we heard what sounded like fingers rolling on a wall upstairs. We calmly grabbed our chairs and left.

We got brave a few weeks later and went back with a few more friends. This time those of us who went in, went to the basement. We sat there for awhile when we heard footsteps overhead... sounded like they had spurs on their boots. We booked it out of the basement and went out the back door. Our couple of friends who stayed outside said they didn’t see anything. As we were discussing what we heard, we heard a loud thud around the front. When we went to check (because we were ignorant teens) the front door had been ripped off its hinges. The hinges were facing the opposite way they should have been considering the doors position.

So long answer made short, no.

I want to see a ghost if they are real. I don't believe they are...plus to my knowledge there's never been a documented death by ghost, so.

Also it seems there's a disproportionate amount of year 1800s ghosts compared to other times. Like wheres all the ghosts in bell bottoms

I went on a ghost walk tour one time in Charleston, SC. It was cool to go to each place and hear the stories

I've also went to Gettysburg and its supposedly the most haunted place in America and I stayed one night in a place there and felt nothing but it was great to wander around there.

No I stayed in the Sara Black Room at the Farnsworth House Inn and it was supposedly haunted and I literally didn't see anything and they had a book there where people put their experiences and it was detailed but I didn't feel/see anything.

Ghosts must hate me lol

Ghosts aren’t real but there are things much worse that are.

Point being: it’s best to leave well enough alone. Stay in your lane, don‘t get involved in things you shouldn’t.

I spent the night at a supposedly haunted hotel in Santa Paula, CA (Glen Tavern Inn) but it must have been the ghost's night off.

When the Delta Queen was berthed here in Chattanooga my wife booked a nights stay on it as a birthday surprise gift. During the night we heard a lot of strange clanking and banging and I woke up once hyper ventilating and I had a rapid heart beat (which I never do). The next day she told me the state room we slept in was the quarters of Capitan Mary Green who died of heart failure in that same bed we were sleeping in, the ghost of whom has been reportedly seen by numerous visitors on the ship. 🥶

Based on deaths in a location, the most haunted places in Lexington should be UK med center and VA.

I really don’t understand the whole fear of ghosts thing: you scared of getting whispered at? Terrified of a chair rocking quietly? I only fear dark places because crackheads like to hide.

What am I getting out of it? I would hope at the very least that the room is paid for.

If so. Yeah I'd probably do it. But then again after watching the movie 1408.. maybe not.
You don’t get a room paid for if it’s an abandoned place or something else along those lines.

Then what do you get out of it?

I think this boils down to if you're one of two different people. If you believe in ghosts and/or just like to be scared, then you might consider staying in an abandoned place because you might get a thrill out of it.. If you don't believe, what would you get out of staying there?.....bottom line it wouldn't cross your mind to even want to stay there.

However, if someone offered me some decent money or compensation I guarantee I'd sleep like a baby.

I would stay in a room if there were people down the hall and next door. But alone in a hotel like the Shining? If you were the caretaker and the only one in the hotel? No way.

When I was a child, my folks bought property where a drunken man died in a house fire. We built a new house on that spot. I constantly imagined seeing things at night. I slept with a knife under my pillow for years. What good was a knife going to do, but hey I was a little kid.
