This sounds like someone just fishing for attention/clicks on a slow Monday.

“Would rule it out” why? Because you actually heard someone connected to the program, say it, or because you’re just making up some BS out the back end of your butt for internet attenton?

I mean this is coming from Joe Tipton.

He doesn't do clickbait and he doesn't need to do clickbait. He's one of the more respected "insiders" that college basketball has.

This isn't just some message board guy saying it, Tipton has really sources and connections throughout college basketball, including Kentucky's staff.

Many think you can sign two quality players for every position in every year. The NIL is causing all teams to have holes while spreading it out to more schools. Then, if an injury involves a position with that hole you are seriously impacted. Quality players don’t want to set on the bench as pg2 or any other position and can get good NIL at other schools. Your history and traditions don’t mean crap.

Would be a huge sign that the staff is willing to do whatever it takes to compete this year. I like the move if it happens..

There probably aren't a lot of options at this point. Probably should be happy getting anyone who can actually handle the ball and play pg.
Agreed that the priority for a backup PG isn't scoring. Its being able to set up the offense and distribute the ball. We need a guy with good handles and who can get by his man off the dribble. A pass first mentality.

I’m not sure about the rules regarding this stuff, but, is it possible that scholarship numbers are irrelevant with NIL? Like, if you offer a kid $1M, for example, couldn’t he just walk on & pay his tuition from the NIL $? I know if I was an eligible PG & was offered that kind of $, I’d HAPPILY pay the tuition myself. Tuition for a semester or 2 would be peanuts & there would still be like 90% of the NIL $ left, afterwards. Like I said, idk. But, maybe that’s a possibility.
Not gonna say with certainty but I don't see how one couldn't just use nil and pay the scholarship..

unfortunately don't really have anything else at this time other than it'll likely be an international player, if they even add someone. there's not many players out there right now
I agree completely. A handful of international players, more comes to light. Been a bit tight lipped.

So if we get an international pg; it may mean one of the current 15 would need to be removed?

Yeah no thanks.

Biggest need is a backup PG who can make 3FGs.

Billy is the opposite of that, bad ball handler who can't make shots (only 7 made 3FGs all season right now).

Billy Richmond would not hurt any team in the country, if you have seen him play much, he all ways plays hard as hell with effort and athleticism.

Not trolling. The staff is considering bringing in a portal PG so clearly they recognize that the PG play hasn't been up to snuff. You should recognize that too

To back Lowe up or if he goes out injured dip s.hit, and yes you are fishing, we do recognize that 😂
Hard to get two stud point guards.

Hard enough to get one, and keep him healthy 🙂

Yes 100%
Find a great penetrator and passer, and sign his a.ss 😂
True point guard, that can handle pressure.

boogie fland is a first rounder in the draft

lee is averaging almost 20 his last handful of games
Boogie isn't in the 1st round of most mock drafts at this point. He was once considered a 1st rounder. He doesn't play like 1. He isn't rated like one now.

Lee played 3 no-name teams in a row. Averaging 20 doesn't mean much when you're playing a team abbreviated SFPA.

They're both terrible shooters. Neither guy is a "stud PG."

Forrest was dismissed for "violating team rules" when he played for NC A&T. Not sure we'd want to pursue him given that history.

so by that logic we have no stud guards right

The only reason they would even consider bringing in another pg is they are worried about Lowe’s shoulder holding up and not to play in front of him. Lowe is pg #1 regardless.
