But seriously probably would have preferred an OT W over the Hawkeyes, since it is not conceivable to me that a team with this talent level can lose 6 BIG games in a row. Oh well, looking forward to seeing how it plays out this weekend...
EDIT; wanted to add that Peter Jok, who has battled injuries this season set an Iowa single-game record tonight with 22 made free throws, congrats to him! Obviously, Indy was a fouling machine tonight (and a turnover machine as well).

Yeah, I seem to recall some N'Western fans gloating bout their B10 record compared to Iowa's this season. Looks like both teams have a decent shot of finishing 9 - 9 in conference. I'm not saying that Iowa has much of chance of going to NCAA tourney due to some early season blunders (they would likely have to win or go to finals in B10 tourney). However, as I mentioned in a much earlier post, it's a loooong season & anything can happen.
Going 2-1 @ Maryland @ Wisky and vs. Penn State is not what I would call a decent shot, considering you have lost 3 of 4 with the only victory in OT at home vs a team that has now lost 5 in a row and 7 of 8. Nice to hear from you though.
Whenever I feel a bit down about the Cats, I just watch that game of the DVR for an instant pick-me-up. Thanks Io_a!

We would as well. Io_a is one of the easier opponents we could have, unless you have an unlikely run at the end of the season.

It is. A fan of another team coming to a team's board is trolling, almost by definition. When you then end up having posts with trollish content, too, it's sort of cut and dry.
I don''T have the time or lack of mental maturity to troll other team's fansites after tough losses. But carry on, whatever makes you feel goof I guess.

How many have trolled your basketball message boards after one of the many bad Iowa losses this year? And I was speaking about my own mental maturity, which sure as heck is miles ahead of yours if your posts here are any indication.
Look, I don't know if it was you or one of the other eight hardcore N'Western hoops fans on the planet, but after Iowa's loss vs N'Western, the consensus on this board was that it was a foregone conclusion that N'Western would easily glide into the NCAA tourney with something like a 13 - 5 type B10 record. At that time, I pointed out that it was a loooong season, with lots of parity in B10, so not a "shoe-in" that N'Western would make the tourney field. I simply came back to point out that my initial prediction was not that far off. Now, I do think N'Western will finish 1 and 1 in B10 regular season (with win over Michigan & loss to Purdue) and limp into NCAA tourney. I also realize Iowa got smashed (albeit without Jok) in game vs. N'Western. However, I think a re-match now would be much more competitive. Just quit acting like N'Western is now a power in the B10. I'm old enough to recall B10 hoops history and Iowa's b-ball program with numerous NCAA tourney bids, including a 1980 Final Four and 1987 Great 8 run, FAR and away exceeds N'western's hoops history, or lack thereof in NCAA tourney.
Iowa likely loses at Wisky (altho they played well at Maryland), but highly doubt the Hawks lose at home vs Penn State. In any event, I'm really looking forward to B10 tourney as that could be quite interesting.
Please link to the many posts on this board right after the Iowa win that said we would easily glide into the NCAA tourney. I'll wait.....

This is too easy...I'm not going to provide links, but simply go back 3 or 4 pages on this site (pre-Scottie Lindsey injury/sickness) and there are a myriad of posts predicting such things as potential B10 title and easily into NCAA tourney. Mikey - to quote your own post to a fellow N'Western fan "I know that you don't like it, but we're going into the tourney, no matter what your nonsensical stats and analysis say. Deal with it." That sound pretty confident to me. Just a brief review of other posts at that time say such things as: the tourney is a done deal, we can win the BT...we are going to beat Maryland for the title-book it....the party is just starting, Cats get ready for a run. Need I go on?

You said after the Iowa loss to NU. So that is the time on the boards I looked at. Yes, several weeks ago, a few people were talking about two-round BTT byes and debating whether NU could secure as high as a 6 seed. I and others made some fun of them, or at least said they were getting what ahead of themselves. However, after the Iowa win, there was no such talk. And that is what you originally stated. If you wish to change your point now and talk about some of those more recent posts, you at least have something to point to.
With only 8 hardcore N'Western posters out there, surely there is a consensus among 5 of you, that N'Western will make the tourney
