If this is true, coupled with the ridiculous extension given to Knight, I'm hoping KZ is evaluating things

We're 10 years in, blew a golden opportunity 2 years ago w two top 5 picks, and our head coach is allowing players to dictate what goes on in practice, while our top assistant is getting raises for simply breathing?

We either want to win or suck
Bottom line - this is unacceptable, and these guys need to go ASAP. Hopefully, this coming year is their final one

Earlier this season, I thought for sure pike would be gone, but actually Zinn played it smartly for herself. She’s playing with house money this season and the honeymoon period at Rutgers is normally exponentially longer than at other schools. Why upset the apple cart until you have to…and at RU…that can very long time (e.g., Pike). She chose the lowest hanging fruit in firing Washington. No one cares about that one. IF she’s worth anything, I expect Pike to be gone after this coming season, and probably Schiano after that…if she’s even here at that point.

2026-27 Buyout: $9 million
2027-28 Buyout: $7 million

I say pay the 9 before the 26-27 season ends, if the team looks like a loser again.
Move an assistant to HC and start looking for Pike's replacement ASAP.
But I do fear the buyout money will save him
More than double those numbers.

Here is what Rutgers owes Pike if he is fired today.

April 1, 2026 - March 31, 2027: $3,850,000
April 1, 2027 - March 31, 2028: $3,950,000
April 1, 2028 - March 31, 2029: $4,050,000
April 1, 2029 - March 31, 2030: $4,150,000
April 1, 2030 - March 31, 2031: $4,250,000

Total: $20,250,000

I would think he takes a deal if he knows we don't want him and we're willing to allow him to take another job while still getting paid by us.

Yes, but the practices leading up to this game needed to be meaningful - to help make us better with extra practice, just like extra practice leading up to a bowl game makes next year's football team better. Pike thought it more important the players just have fun. Watching the game wasn't fun.
No they didn’t - because that wasn’t the purpose of this tournament. The purpose was to keep the group together and let them have a little fun and maybe if the cards fell right make a few bucks. There was no purpose besides this.
