Is Indiana where they are today with bud man as wr coach? Beth get rid of him!
I’m okay with a former college QB being a WR coach….there’s a natural symbiosis there. But for me, this is a make or break year…gotta see production. But also remember, everyone wanted Barnett run out on a rail….but it wasn’t him, it was lack of bodies and experience. I’m willing to give Bud another year.

I agree and eat crow on Barnett, at least for now.

Bud brought in dead weight QBs that he was in charge of recruiting at other places. Ones like Deacon Hill. We got rid of a WR coach who had guys like ISM and Brandon Smith for a converted QB coach.

I'm not a Bud fan.

And you’ll say the same thing this time next year.

Our patience is next level.

Good points, but Barnett never made the unforgivable, IMHO, mistake of bringing Deacon Hill to Iowa with the claim the kid was a Big Ten quarterback. After proving he wasn't good enough to QB most junior college teams, Hill transferred to Utah Tech (look it up) where, last I checked, he was running third string behind a pair of freshmen.

Anybody who is such a poor judge of talent leaves me tremendously skeptical of his coaching skills. And when he's coaching a position he's never played, one that's vital to unlocking the entire Shanahan-Lester offense, well, if it were me I'd be scouring the nation for the best WR coach available and pay him whatever it would require.

Instead, KF is content to keep the Bud man and, I guess, hope it works out. It had better, because Iowa has several outstanding receivers, so there are no more excuses for poor routes, dropped passes, or any other mistakes by the WRs.

And you provided some evidence to explain why. Well done. I absolutely agree.
