Wrestlestat lists RPIs for 79 of 78 D1 teams.

They have the following caveat on their page: "These are still based on our limited knowledge of how the formula is calculated, which I know is not 100% accurate." Given that the formula is very straight forward, I am not sure what the differences would be other than inputs. For example, I noticed that they include seven Mercyhurst wrestlers in their rankings even though Mercyhurst is not a D1 school.

Maybe WS has some data issues at the margin, but we are going with it anyway.

Top 20 team RPIs

Can we put the PSU schedule questions to bed?

Top 20 Individual RPIs

While Penn State has four of the top twenty individual RPIs, it is two Oklahoma State wrestlers with the toughest individual schedules so far.

RPI by Conference

It should come as no surprise that the Big Ten has the highest RPI.

I didn’t know there were questions about Penn State's schedule.

Including Mercyhurst is dumb but should be marginal, certainly not the differences being seen between official vs Wrestlestat RPIs. It's one school with a limited schedule vs D1.

I wonder if one of the calculations excludes guys with <15 matches from their equations. I.e., if Davis doesn't get counted as an opponent for Mendez and doesn't get counted as a 2nd order opponent for Ragusin. Etc.

Otherwise, yeah it's a simple equation and it's hard to understand how differences could exist.

Iowa only has 4 wrestlers who qualify for an RPI. Has that ever happened?

125, 141 (assuming Petersen), 157, 184 197, and 285 do not qualify for an RPI.

On the Coaches' Ranking side 184 and 197 have not wrestled at the weight in over 30 days. And depending on line-up decisions there is a chance 141 and 157 do not get a CR.

There is a chance that Iowa only allocates 6 weights.

125 if the cutline slides to .720 Dean won't allocate. 141 if it's Bailey he will allocate if it's Kale P he could if he gets in the coaches poll and the cutline doesn't go to .720. 157 184 197 HWT definitely can't allocate. 133 149 165 174 will allocate.

Yeah, I left out win%. So there is a chance of only four allocations. Wild.

If we follow Roar's Big Ten seeds, Iowa's average seed is 5.9.

For a team that has had at least 1 NCAA finalist for decades, they might not get a finalist at Bigs.

Hard to imagine. Especially considering between Arnold and Ferrari there is the realistic expectation they will have 8 NCAA championships.

If anyone has watched us this year, that would not be surprising. Turned into a true dumpster fire.

As you had mentioned on another occasion, Penn State's team and individual RPI's disprove those who say Penn State has had an easy schedule this year. Penn State's RPI is far higher than any other team. Also, Penn State has seven wrestlers in the top 20, with Iowa and Ohio State with only one apiece, Oklahoma State with two, and the team closest to Penn State being Nebraska with four.

There are only nine teams with half or less of their lineup RPI-qualified.

That is NOT a group you want to be in

Caveira over there sure hates him some Penn State : )
That guy is in SHAMBLES! Cael has broken him.

The funniest thing is him being some warrior for sexual assault justice on the main page (re: McHenry Freemasonry-gate) but then seeing who he simps for on the political board. Sure, guy, you really care about these matters

What would move the cutline? Not sure how that works

Not to sure anyone in Iowa is saying that anymore.
Every year, we roll into the post season and Iowa has had the reality just beat into them. Come April 1st though (which has to be one of the most ironic timings of the year), HR will be full of 178 point projections with 4 or 5 champs and 9 All-American projections for next March.
As reliable and predictable as bird flocks flying in some sort of north direction in the spring.
