Every year, we roll into the post season and Iowa has had the reality just beat into them. Come April 1st though (which has to be one of the most ironic timings of the year), HR will be full of 178 point projections with 4 or 5 champs and 9 All-American projections for next March.
As reliable and predictable as bird flocks flying in some sort of north direction in the spring.
I don't know about that. This year is different. Check out their thread about next year's lineup. They think it gets worse, not better.

125 if the cutline slides to .720 Dean won't allocate. 141 if it's Bailey he will allocate if it's Kale P he could if he gets in the coaches poll and the cutline doesn't go to .720. 157 184 197 HWT definitely can't allocate. 133 149 165 174 will allocate.

What would move the cutline? Not sure how that works

If the number of guys who would allocate with .700 is more than is allowed it would move to .710 , .720 or .730
As I understand it, all three of the criteria move at the same time when trying to get to no more than 29 wrestlers.

Win% CR RPI
.700 30 30 (starting point)
.710 29 29 (first attempt after starting point)
.720 28 28 (second)
.730 27 27 (third)
...and so on.

That's correct

Things have been getting a little morose over there recently : )
Iowa fans used to have some hope for improvement. However unrealistic and unlikely it was, they were an eternally optimistic and resilient bunch.

With each passing year of unrealized expectations, they have become increasingly bitter. Now they are on the verge of hopelessness.

Once Runtgers beats them head to head, I fear that they will drop men’s wrestling as a sport. How the mighty have fallen. 😱
