Wouldn't that have still put us on top of the old Big East?
Tied with Vandy at 2-6 but they beat us so they got the tie breaker. So we were 5th.
Big East, MAC, OVC, whats the difference. We would be at the top of any of those conferences most years. In the ACC, we would be fighting UofL for the 3rd spot in the Atlantic division most years and we would be first or second in the Coastal division most years. However, we are not in the ACC. If we want to compete with the big dogs in the SEC we will have to surpass where little brudder is right now.

ACC? I am using UofL as a gauge. They are a very comparable team that has needed some breaks to beat us the last 2 years and a team that is probably going to enjoy one more year of being slightly better than us.
justify us finishing worst than South Carolina, who was awful last year & wont be better, and Mizzou who will be taking a big step down from 2016 as well, and Vandy who we gift wrapped and gave the W to last year

If you can put together a solid run defense, you might compete for the East title. The front seven is the key to a successful year this year and next...
Maybe the MAC or OVC - but the AAC ( Big East)has some pretty good teams in it. Also the UK team from the last few years would have struggled to make a bowl in the ACC just like they did in the SEC.

agree, logical and fair. Unbiased outsiders can comfortably predict we should be better than usc, mizzou, vandy. Shame that can't be the overwhelming opinion on this site.
This uk team is deeper more experienced and better than jokers first team that went 6 6. People are only focusing on the dline and not looking at the major talent upgrade on this team.
It's the same logic used on the basketball board. We never would lose in games that we don't get to play...i.e...no way we lose to Duke in the championship if we beat Wisconsin....
I suspect they just didn't understand the question. USC also got 2 first place votes.
Looking at those records the West really dominated the East. Did anybody beat a West team besides Florida? If not the record would be 1-11 East vs West.
And the basketball team and the Reds and anybody else he talks about. You have heard of the glass is half empty? This Dakota dude just inspired a new saying; the glass is completely empty. Probably wakes up every morning and says "damn"!
