Quick poker update. I’m playing in the $1,700 buy in WSOP circuit at the Cherokee casino in Durant. There were almost 1000 entrants. Going into day 2 there are 167 left, paying 147. I’m 14th in total chips going into day two. I misplayed 3 hands or I’d be chip leader. But, I can’t complain since that happens and all the other players are solid players as well. Many pros have been at my table.

One of the fortunate things for me is that I never moved seats all day. For me that’s been key for good runs. In the other events I’ve played in that were like this, not having your table break or get moved seems to go hand in hand with me playing well and going deep.

Winner gets just over $250,000, but that’s a LOOONNNGGGG way off. I know there are some poker players on here who might find this interesting.

If you get dealt 7d 10d play it. I have no idea why, but that thought popped into my head as I started reading your original post and never went away.

I met a guy who plays a lot, but he said he's not a pro and doesn't play the pro games...only the amateur games. He's won a lot of money. $400,000 once. Is he a liar?

Lots of armature players like me are serious and play for larger stakes. So winning 400k in a tournament is very plausible. But I'm not sure what he would mean by 'pro games'. It is always a mix of pros and amateurs.

I took two players out in the same had when we were 16 handed. It was reported on poker news. Pretty cool.

I open to 100k and get two all in shoves behind me. I have to call another 600k or so with JJ. Of course I call and one has AQ and the other AK. Board runs out clean and I take out both. Pretty thrilling.

I did lose a million chip pot earlier in the day. I flop a straight and we get it all in 3-ways again. The others have top set and a flush draw. The flush turns and the board pairs for quads to scoop. Tough hand but it plays itself.

Won a huge flip for 3.5 mil. QQ vs. AK. I have the Queens. all in pre. Flop is Q99. Turns an Ace to keep him live but blanks the river and I win a monster.

I’ve been playing pretty wide open trying to accumulate chips at every level. Only one level was I down in chips by the break.

The chip leader has about twice as much as the next guy. DChi is pretty much neck and neck with 2nd place. A couple guys are way behind the middle group.

If I’m following the live reporting do I was MR or is he someone else? Understand if you don’t want to divulge his identity I totally understand.
