If it gets through the house , We would be the 29th state to pass it. We are 1 of only 6 states that has not passed some form of medical Marijuana bill

Now they need to change the SS/disability that hurts businesses in wV and prevents others from even considering locationg there.

29 plus DC. It's likely DOA in the House unless people call their Delegates, because Armstead is deadset against it.

Probably won't get through the house, but a good first step
Not even good. I found it a great breakthrough because both sides of the aisle either were absolutely for it or were resigned to say "you know what...it's time."

I would have never expected the level of support speakers gave for it last night, and my mouth dropped when the vote was 28-6. The only way it has a chance in the House is people voice their support. Otherwise, Armstead will not let it see a vote.

Yeah its DOA in the house, I would be shocked if it goes to vote or is even discussed. But they at least got it out of committee this year and pushed it through the Senate. If not this year, they will get it next year.

Wv waited too long on the Mary Jane stuff anyway. Should've legalized it recreationally several years ago like Colorado did. Would've already been out of debt by now. It's gonna happen eventually anyway. GD idiots. Always a day late and a dollar short in this state.

The fact that we are seeing this much potential tax influx when we are this far in debt really burns my ***. To hell with medical, get the friggin recreational pushed. It's ridiculous to see that much money not going into our coffers. Hell, it would boost tourism. Use some of that reclamated mine land for it. Just shortsighted on the part of our beloved state.

Malpractice reform would be amazing. I could drive 10 minutes south on I81 and open doors and immediately save some serious coin in malpractice coverage.

It will be interesting to see what transpires 20 years down the road. There will be consequences to legalization. There are always unintended consequences.

The unintended consequences of it being illegal are much worse. You know what has transpired in the last 20 years? Perdue pharma has shoved oxycontin down our throats and now we have a heroin epidemic, but cannabis is bad, right

Alcohol costs taxpayers billions every year, but what's everyone sippin tonight

You are full of **** if you think cannabis is the problem

The biggest consequence is law enforcement losing out of fed tax dollars and not being able to extort the dead head of more money that has a 20 bag in his pocket. The war on drugs has been one big legal shakedown from the Federal Government on the American people.

Brunch Bill? That was last year. Plus the counties/cities have to legalize it, still. It was merely enabling legislation.

Recreational died as of yesterday. HB3035 would've legalized it entirely. I was pretty proud of how the Senate discussed it last night because most were still against it but had finally given up on the fight against it. The House is still full of people who need to do the same.

I don't think anything is stopping it from being in a special session, but let's be real - the people voted into office in November have no interest in being the East Coast Colorado.

Get ready for a special session to address the budget. I'd venture a guess recreational will be introduced if the medical fails the House. Yes, I know it has zero chance of getting out but it will be a budget bill.

The people voted in have nothing to do with it. This isn't a Left or Right thing in WV. It's a cultural/religious and age divide. I know very few on the right Gen X and younger that aren't in favor of it. If they aren't, it's usually the super religious and in WV, super religious is not unique to party.

Anyone see the story about the company that makes fetanyl getting the green light to make synthetic THC after giving the anti-legalization side $500,000 in Arizona?

The folks who made fetanyl say recreational cannabis is not safe, FETANYL !!!

Most people will tell you that this isn't your normal cannabis. It's high octane. We need to stop the docs, the pharmacies and Pharma from shipping more pills than should be going to a certain area. @pbody will have to pay more but he can afford it. Needs to be a three prong attack.

Fentanyl is a medical drug, not for use by the public. Used in surgery.

How would you know? Trust me on this one. This is another problem with it being "illegal" tests cannot be done to determine proper usage. I had a little issue with this recently when I got my hands on some edibles

Everything I've heard from some people who would know, say this form of cannabis is much stronger than what us older guys would have gotten back in the 60-80.

Dealers cut fentanyl with heroin and people are dropping like flies, unintended consequences indeed

Fentanyl can't be purchased over the counter. I would guess the fentanyl is brought into the country illegally.
