No one's fault but our own. Plenty of opportunities to separate ourselves and we whiffed on em all. How did we drop behind TTU and Texas? Legitimately curious

I really need to find that burlywood color.

Best I can tell 4 way tie. OU split with TTU and Texas but swept WVU.
TTU and Texas split with each other and WVU and OU.

4 way tie record
OU 4-2 (swept WVU)
TTU 3-3
Texas 3-3
WVU 2-4

Tiebreakers.
The first criteria in the breaking of ties in the standings shall be head-to-head competition of tied teams. The following procedure will be used to establish the postseason championship seeds when ties exist.

Ties involving more than two teams.

a. Results from the collective head-to-head competition during the regular season among the tied teams in a mini round-robin format, ranking the tied teams by winning percentage from highest to lowest will be used to determine the seeds.

  1. If during this process two teams remain tied with the same winning percentage, the two-team tiebreaking system is used, starting with head-to-head results.

  2. If during this process more than two teams remain tied with the same winning percentage, a second mini round-robin format is implemented, ranking the remaining tied teams by winning percentage from highest to lowest to determine seeds. If the teams remain tied, then the two-team tiebreaking system is used, starting with head-to-head results.

    b. If more than two teams are still tied, each of the tied team’s record versus the team occupying the highest position in the final regular season standings, and then continuing down through the standings, eliminating tied teams with inferior records until one team gains an advantage. When arriving at another group of tied teams while comparing records, use each team’s record against the collective tied teams as a group (prior to that group’s own tiebreaking procedure), rather than the performance against individual tied teams. The lone exception to this guideline would be if there are only two tied teams in the group placement and one of the teams won both regular-season games. In this instance, the tie is deemed broken and comparison of the seed rather than the placement will be utilized.

    c. If more than two teams are still tied, a comparison of the tied teams Conference games only road record.

    d. If more than two teams are still tied, a comparison of the tied teams Conference games only road records versus the team(s) occupying the highest position in the final Conference regular season standings, and then continuing down through the standing until one team gains an advantage. If at any point the multiple-teams tie is reduced to two teams, the two-team tie breaking procedures above will be applied.

I thought one site had us locked in for Texas Tech.
So, Oklahoma at 9 p.m. Another late night for me. I'll be 3 a.m. before I can go to sleep no matter how the game turns out.

Finished 6th by conference rules. Worst head to head of four tied teams. Played a piss poor 15 game stretch when it counted. Earned this lousy matchup by stinking up the joint. Yea...look at us we're mediocre!! Lot to celebrate huh?

Yeah and there was no conference share of title last year. Nice try. Tie breakers are for tournament seed only.

No matter how you slice it a being in a 4 way tie for 3rd is not the same as being definitively 3rd or even just tied with one other team for 3rd. Like everything it's in the middle, which is right where the 4 tied teams preformed this season.

Well first...you didn't answer the question which indicates that my observation is correct. Secondly...you would be much more effective if you didn't butcher grammar when replying. For example...that would be you're not yours. You're is short for you are while your is possessive. Now say..."thanks for the lesson!"

Actually teeny tiny Allen it wasn't anything connected to Google. It was just an observation from someone who actually got an education and understands the importance of proper English. However I am glad to be of assistance to you.

There should be a comma after the word "However" in your last sentence. I just thought I'd throw that out there.

Interesting trivia, to me, at least.
Both the WVU men and women are #6 seeds playing #3 seeds.
I'll be watching both Mountaineer basketball teams with high hopes and expectations and a LOT of prayers. I've never seen such a volatile WVU team, probably because so many of the stars are freshmen and sophomores. That bids well for the future but makes for some Pacemaker-spinning moments this season. I can't wait for Thursday's men & women doubleheader!!!
