Our AD was nuts for rescheduling but at the time our AD wasn’t known for being a hardass. I doubt anyone would have rescheduled us when we were under ridiculous sanctions.

I never knew that. The only place I see anyone being referred to as a hoopie is on the Pitt message board. I thought it was just another stupid thing they came up with.

I went to college in WVa and always thought it was a play on words with "hippies". The Hippies were the cool hipsters from the big city. Hoopies were the funny country bumpkins who tried to be hippies but were just hoopies. So you learn something new every day!
