WVU prediction thread

I’ve studied our bracket to the best of my limited ability. And, provided this team stays healthy, I’ll be surprised if they don’t advance to the elite 8

so elite 8 to my prediction

If they match up with Houston I expect an OT game
Could go either way. The last two tournaments they went out at the end of the game.

Game that you have to fight and claw for everything

I would worry about getting there first.

Houston is the one potential road block in my view. Unfortunately haven’t seen them play. Just know what I read about them. Like our size against them and Sampson never impressed me

They double the post. They are all over the court. Doubling the post works because they are so long and Athletic
Plus most of those players have played a lot of basketball together.

Jarreau is the most disrespected basketball player in the tournament

The guy is unbelievable on both ends

Sweet 16. Plus or minus one. We closed out the season poorly, so I definitely worry we could get nipped in either the first round or round of 32. But WVU has shown the ability to breeze past any combination of teams it may face in the first 2 rounds. Consistency is the key and stringing together 3 solid games in a row stopped for our guys before Valentine's day had passed. Thus another close game where we fall short at the end is all too possible in the Sweet 16 even if we play fairly well.

Bottom line is it depends on if and how long WVU is hot. WVU lives and dies by the 15+ foot shot while being very vulnerable to drives and inside the paint points. Doesn't bode well when you are vulnerable to higher percentage shots than the ones you have to make to win.

San Diego State does what UVa does with their defense.
Heard a couple of knowledgeable people say they have the best pack line defense in basketball

Both teams are matchup nightmares.

Huggins has all the knowledge in his head about Syracuse
The question is can he transplant that knowledge into his players in 48 hours.

Probably comes down to our shooting. Thing is, I think this team is as capable and confident with making contested shots as any team I’ve seen. And I like the way we played OSU with culver as sick as he seemed. I look at it as the team is entering the tournament rested, shooting well, and playing as well as they have this year. They will be a tough out
